Background to songs:

What's Up? - A Saint FM "Essence of summer" radio competition entry. Thanks to my daughter Ruth for the sun pose!

Scrapfaggot Green - One of the last 'witches' to be burned at the stake in Essex, England was buried at Scrapfaggot Green near the village of Great Leighs. They must have feared her because they used a a large boulder to cover her grave and imprision her. Then, in WWII, an American GI moved her stone...
The boulder can now be seen outside Saint Annes Castle at Great Leighs - see song cover picture.
There is even an account in TIME magazine and a file on her at Saint Anne's Castle, public house, of all the strange things going on in the area since that day...!

Spirits - inspired by the mood of the beautiful music of Sarah McLachlan's "The Answer".

The Other Side of My Hill - on a peacefull sunny day, a walk around the grounds of a disused church on top of the hill at Birchhanger contrasted the madness in the news every day with the beauty that surrounds us - just gotta take the time out to appreciate it more often!

Safe and Sound - what do folk who spend all their time looking out of the window all day, do with their time?

Space and Time - My friend Peter showed me a cool chord progression which I was able to develop and add some appropriate lyrics to try and capture the atmosphere.

Hi Andy, thanks for your lovely comment! 'Ausklang' was written for a German film entitled 'Ekkelins Knecht' which was set in the 14th century. Great opportunity for me, and wonderful chance to write something with mediaeval-flavourings; that era remains one of my favourite historical periods.
Hope all is well with you, and that all good things are coming your way!
Cheers,
Jane

Hi Andy
And cheers for coming down and playing and contributing to what was a superb night!
The tune that me, Steve and Matt did was called 'Our Love Will Not Decay' by Tir Na Nog...

http://uk. youtube. com/watch?v=6MELFrw-c2I

Give it a shot... it's nice when I get the lead twiddly bits right (as I DIDN"T last night because all I could hear through the monitor was Steve!!) Going to try it again in Aldham tomorrow night!
