Take fresh British Blues, add a little Rock, sprinkle with some Folk, and finally add a slither of Country .... mix well and put in a hot emotional oven for 27 years. Well I guess that about sums it up. I finally had something to say....not in my DNA spreading 20’s like most musicians, but in my mid life crisis ridden 40’s........ah......much better material!
This album boasts some of the cream of South East Englands musicians, notably Al Clarke on Harmonica who’s melodic approach to soloing and structure I will always be grateful for. Perry White on Keyboards who’s quartet are regulars at the world famous Ronnie Scotts Jazz Club in London. Tony Rico who has lent his excellent horn playing to the likes of The Wailers, Desmond Dekker, prince Buster and the Specials. Katie Bradley who is a new rising star in the British Blues scene. A special thanks to my old 'muckers' Graham Jonston and Sean McGran the back engine that kept the train on the rails.
My background is simple, Hendrix, Peter Green, anything on Blue Horizon and Chess. I’ve played with Mungo Jerry, supported the likes of Dr Feelgood, Joe Jackson, Geno Washington drunk far to much beer and definitly eaten too many curries, ......but my love for ‘real music’ has endured and I’ve finally had the courage to commit my music to CD. If you like your music to have a spontaneous and live feel, played by ‘real musicians’ hopefully you should enjoy this CD.
