Hi, my name is Andy. I have a studio in London called "The House Of Miracles," where, for many years, I've been recording and mixing for almost anyone who comes knocking. And against my better judgement, I've mastered some of these albums for artists who didn't know where else to go. Or who couldn't afford a dedicated mastering studio. And often as a defensive move when faced with the likelyhood that our weeks of hard work would be damaged in one day by a stranger charging four times more.
Once I grew comfortable with the idea of being the last step before replication, I found that I liked doing it.
So the House Of Miracles has had a refit. New, really expensive speakers and amps, a bigger room, extensive acoustic work, more gear and software, and no more wondering whether I'm doing the right thing.
Since finalizing all the details of the new room, I've done mastering work for Great Lake Swimmers, The United Steelworkers of Montreal, The Burning Hell, Richard Laviolette and the Oil Spills, The Weakerthans' Greg Smith, Jay Clark and the Jones, Jenny Omnichord, and others, in addition to my earlier, sneakier work with The Barmitzvah Brothers, Andy Swan, Two-Minute Miracles, Raised By Swans, etc.
Still doing tracking and mixing, of course - I'm just finding the hi-fi experience of mastering to be really satisfying. (519) 432-7125 or andy.magoffin@sympatico.ca
'I've drank my share of whiskey I've drove woman insane And I swore a streak of blue I even took his name in vain I'm a sanctified sinner A lost soul without the shame Now I've got a one way ticket,
I just wrote about you: http://www.nxew.ca/2009/04/life-is-like-canadian-football.html. I think some of the CFL stuff is going to make it's way into the podcast but if there is other stuff you want to get in the pool for that (or if you want to get involved in any other way) give me a shout.

WOrdup! I'm hoping to go to McGill next year and try to get a masters degree in recording engineering. It's unlikely that I'll make the 8-person programme but nonetheless I'll still try to become a recording engineer. 'Tis a callous and noble career. RESpect!
Come check out my tunes when you get the chance. Also feel free to check out my other project www.myspace.com/armottawa
When i was a boy. i had a re-occuring dream. every time my parents or rellitives would walk me around the block B4 bed. And every time we did, i would say "look up threr in the sky. it's a flying snake!" they would say to me "no jess, it's just a kite." then they would take me around to the back of the house. in through the living room, pattio door and put me to bed. i would say "no, don't leave me here! the snake is going to fly through the window and eat me!" "no jess, it's your imagination. just go to sleep." then they would close the door. i was in bed scared, the doors were locked and when the snake would fly through the window. i couldnt move. the snake would then fly over to me with giant 20' wing span, and proceed to try and eat me. i would wake up B4 he could. this happened for what seemed like years, until one day i got sick of it, and i just let the fkn thing eat me. when i did, the snake dissapeared. i could now move and got out of bed. i went to the door and opend it now unlocked. But my rellitives were afraid of me now. i felt great and tried to calm them down... they didnt, so i left.
after that, i didnt have the dream again.
when i got my third eye i made a mantra;
"When the snake eats you, you become the oppisit. Devour me please. Devour me please."
Fear feels good! Its a good drug and if you think of it this way, you will feel happy and be thank full every time you feel it. it feels good. so good! Recently, i had been feeling a lot of fear, i didn't know why because i am not afraid. so i tried to supress it. i thought if you became inlightened you would feel no fear. the thing is you cant destroy anything, only transform it. so i rehlized, since i'm not affraid, if i think of the fear as good, it will be. thats what i did. i changed my perception. i feel so good! some times i feel like i'm falling. it's so fun! it's only been
