a million other chicks with guitars.... except with a little more attitude... a little more soul... a little more something raw and real. has been compared to the respective styles of tracy chapman, joan armatrading, kristen hall, and a handful of other wonderfully talented singer-songwriters.
Soon after catapulting herself deep (back) into the South, the now nationally-acclaimed singer-songwriter Eric Himan invited Andy Moore out onto the road, a trip which would prove to be her first national tour. In only three and a half weeks in late 2005, the pair managed to knock out 23 cities in more than ten different states, playing everywhere from coffee shops and colleges, to clubs and community centers. It was a grand beginning to Andy's nascent career as a road perfromer... a beginning she enjoyed very much.
Since touring with Eric, Andy's music has really come into its own. Her heart-string tugging lyrics have always been a crowd favorite; but, now she's working on the development of multidimensional musical components guaranteed to send her next recorded project ("5 in common") into uncharted melodious folk waters.
-----
Since the debut of her first album "Shifting" (2001 Thumbcrown Records) and her sophomore effort titled "Dig Right In" (2004 Rockstar Productions), Andy has continued to entertain packed venues along the East Coast as well as other venues scattered across the country. Both records are laced with emotionally engaging vocals, intense lyrical depth and a signature smooth acoustic guitar-- a mix of elements from which Andy's self-proclaimed musical influences such as The Be Good Tanyas, Richard Shindell, and the Indigo Girls shine through brilliantly.
When Andy is not penning or performing music, she enjoys spending time with her partner and their two greyhounds (and sheltie!) in Richmond, Virginia.
