Biography of Andy Ru
Andy Ru, born on the 07 March 1974 to Helmut and Marlies Rudolph in Braunschweig, Germany got his first steps into music at age 10 when his mother bought for him a drum set. He spent a lot of his time from them on listening to artists like Leonel Richie, Michael Jackson, The Bee Gees,and The Prodigy, while accompanying their music with his drum set and voice. Music already became at that tender age a main part of his being. After taking classical guitar lessons for a while, he wrote his first song called „Everyone“ .
From his late teenage years on, Andy had serious problems living and expressing his musical creativity like he had done before. The reason for this was a difficult period he went through filled with crisis which ended in Autumn 1996 with him choosing to start a relationship with Jesus Christ. He Calls this "the turning point of my life". Everything in his life changed from that time. This new found Love and freedom ignited his musical creativity and gave it a new definition and direction which is felt in his music till present day.
Interestingly, after graduating from a graphic-design university, Andy Ru decided to study theology. And hardly able to wait becoming a drummer and singer in the theology-school Band, Andy Ru was thrown out of the band just after the first practice. He admits he never played any worse than that day in his whole life. This turned out to be a good opportunity for him since it led him work without distractions on his greatest instrument - His voice!
Moving back to Braunschweig in 2002, Andy's deep, emotional and powerful singing style immediately got noticed which made him sing at church services, weddings, and many other occasions where people wanted to be moved by a wonderful voice. Becoming a member of the church band permitted him to express and share his music fully even to the point that some of the listeners were moved to tears.
Andy Ru, the man with a gentle beautiful soul who is inspired by the love and experiences with Christ wishes to share this with millions of people.
The married singer/songwriter and father to a cute little girl called Julie is currently signed to the Braunschweig Independent Label - Hitsmith Records which has released his first soulful rhythmic ballad. A song called „Now I'm free“, talking about Andy's life-changing experience.
