MusicAn indie kid at heart (early 90s indie and I've recently come to terms with the label 'Britpop' - you name the bands, I've got them) though pretty broad in genre. For dancing I love Big Beat and really sleazy electro/clash.

Some bands:

Mogwai, Blur, Wilco, Mansun, Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, Spiritualized, The Divine Comedy, Broken Social Scene, Pulp, The Reindeer Section, Tarentell, Explosions in the Sky, Gorillaz, Elbow, The Spin Doctors, Badly Drawn Boy, Primal Scream, Idlewild, Ben Folds/Five, Foo Fighters, Lamb, Minuteman, Radiohead, The National, Seafood, Jesus and Mary Chain, My Bloody Valentine

   Andy's Blurbs
About me:
"Rain"

Woke up this morning with a terrific urge to lie in bed all day and read. Fought against it for a minute.

Then looked out the window at the rain. And gave over. Put myself entirely in the keep of this rainy morning.

Would I live my life over again? Make the same unforgivable mistakes? Yes, given half a chance. Yes.

Hey hey

I've fallen these days into a 'realistic optimist' persona. Or is that 'optimistic realist'..?. Anyway, my usual passion for self destruction is currently being tempered by the fact that I've got an amazing passion for life. Which is nice.

I keep a blog and photos:

Check them out. You know, if you want to.

Ta ta,

Andy

Who I'd like to meet:
Anyone like the people I meet on the road who set me alight and make me realise the world isn't filled with arseholes. You know who you are.

Oooo - and someone with the exact same name as me. That would be incredibly exciting. The EXACT same name mind.

Hey! Very impressive badmouthing, as requested.. It seems I'll have the opportunity to critique even more of your prescribing after October, so will indeed be sticking to my drug habits but in Brighton this time!

By the way, Five Awesome Aussie Bands: You Am I, Augie March, The Sleepy Jackson, The Vandas and The Hate Rock Trio (oh, and for a cross between The Divinyls and Kate Bush; Little Birdy)..

I forget where you are living now, but if you're up in London next week, we have a showcase at my place, The Low Fidelity Disconnect. We're playing with some cool other acts, some art, some underground film.

How have you been? Medicine not boring you yet I hope. No chance I imagine.

Hmm, no --what if you're getting crushed? ...You're the one on top.

Cheers. Hows the realistic optimism going? Sounds like a riot. I'm feeling pretty motivated myself recently. Life is grand.

When are you around London again?

A married for long time and childless woman was given the best news of her life by her Doctor that she was finally pregnant. She wanted the baby very much, her dream came true, was ecstatic and wanted to talk to someone badly.

On her way back home in the bus she started talking to the man sitting next to her. She excitedly narrated the doctor's visit, her being pregnant after a long time and her uncontrollable happiness.

The man shared her joy and reciprocated his experience with her. He said, "I am a farmer and I had trouble with my hens laying eggs. So one day, I went out to the hen house in the morning, and what do you know, all of my hens had laid eggs. I was as happy as you are today. But you know why? Between you and me only, I changed cocks."

The pregnant woman responded enthusiastically, "And you know what? Between you and me only, I did the same!"

Jaundiced or not, nothing combats your comic book obsessions, terrible self cartoon icons and hairy Italian man chest.
