im glad you like him! he's amazing. evergreen is definately not like that...for instance this year im taking that ornithology program, then for winter and spring im going to sset up inderpendent contracts...one where i document, research, and plant/build a raingarden for my mother because her basement floods all the time, and the other is going to be a documentation of ethnomusicology in the appalacian mountains, along with recording projects of my own. then the year after that are some science classes and then a trip to new zealand to work on that farm in the summer...and depnding on the amount of work i put into it all, full time college credit is applied to all of it...life is good at evergreen as long as you have an idea of what you want to do and have the drive to do it.
yeah i saw that you're headed west on your tour schedule, maybe i can catch one of your shows... or maybe we can play one together, i'll be traveling with a group of musicians (Jah Phunky Love Collective) this go round... my travels have been smooth, been back to the housie ways for about two months, but spent five months of the winter hoppin freight and hitchhiking the entire southwest US... and yeah i made it to the slabs, and they're worth checking out :) i'm pondering heading back this month, though it'll be hot as my friend ashley's mom, so we'll see about that... but the plan for me is i'm dippin from the windy city wednesday morning and taking a week to get to new mexico, stop and catch up with old souls on the way... spending about a week there, then making my way to the southern CA beach (maybe san diegoish) then playin music for gas money to make my way up to seattle... so it sounds like we'll be in the same like three inches of map or so come mid july... hopefully we can meet up and share sounds with eachother and everyone around.
