A+E was formed in early 2002. Hereford’s premier nightclub of the time ‘the Crystal Rooms’ was looking for someone to put on a hard house night to run along side the legendary Naughty but Nice. A+E was the answer.
A+E’s first night was on the 7th June 2002 and the headliner was a relatively unknown Paul Glazby. The night was a success, so of course more nights would follow. Between June 2002 and August 2003 A+E worked with DJ’s such as Andy Farley, Paul Glazby, Ian M, Steve Thomas, Paul Maddox, Lee Haslam, Ilogik, Karim and Jon the Dentist.
With the Crystal Rooms closing for re-development A+E needed to find a new home. This home came in the unlikely form of Hereford nightclub DV8. Running at DV8 from November 2004 through to August 2005 A+E focused on finding fresh talent as well as working with Ian M and JP + Jukesy. July 2005 also saw A+E move further afield with a night in conjunction with Wiggle at Clyro Court in Hay-on-Wye.
2006 and another new club. With an amazing sound system and a well established following the Lock Up is where A+E was based for just over a year. 2006 was a busy year for A+E working with Ian M, JP + Jukesy, Paul Maddox, Hannah Wild, Andy Farley, Superfast Oz, Ben Stevens, Daley and the one and only Captain Tinrib. As well as the Lock Up, A+E has also ventured to Club UK in Bristol for a night of hard house and hardcore featuring A+E and Spunky residents with Daley and Robbie Long headlining.
2007 was A+Es biggest year to date. The first half saw DJs Paul Glazby, Rodi Style, Ian M, Karim and Amber D grace the decks for A+E at the Lock Up. Then A+E announced it was moving to The Jailhouse, a much bigger better venue. Closely followed by an A+E tour of Ibiza and the signing of Ian M and Rodi Style as residents. A one off event in Shrewsbury brought Captain Tinrib and Ian M to headline status. Then things really kicked off. The brand new Jailhouse opened and A+E didn't disappoint. AdamLAB4, Andy Farley, JP + Jukesy, Marc Johnson, Daley, Rodi Style, Lady Bianca, OD404, Robbie Muir, Tom Parr, BK, Ian M, Scott fo Shaw, Lisa Lashes, Superfast Oz, The Tidy Boys, and Amp Attack all headlined before the year was out. To round things off nicely Scott fo Shaw signed as resident.
2008 was another big year. Lee Haslam, Ilogik, Ian M, Scott Fo Shaw, Paul Glazby, Paul Maddox, Steve NRG, Kutski, Judge Jules, James Searles, Andy Farley, Defective Audio and Lisa Lashes all graced the A+E 1 and 2's. The Onacock Brothers were crowned 2007's Hard Dance 'Golden Glowstick' winners at the Jailhouse annual awards and for the first time ever A+E teamed up with Sundissential.
2009 promises to be HUGE. The first event of the year is planned for March 28th. Watch this space!!!
