No man was ever yet a great poet, without being at the same time a profound philosopher. For poetry is the blossom and the fragrance of all human knowledge, human thoughts, human passions, emotions, language - Samuel Taylor Coleridge

About me:

I am Matthew Nolan, a New Orleans author excited about meeting people who love literature and believe in the rebirth of one of the greatest, most unique cities in the world--New Orleans, baby!

My first book Crumpled Paper Dolls: A New Orleans Poet made it big a month before Hurricane Katrina. I am now busy working on my second book and rebuilding my community.

You will find my site a ton of fun! Snoop around to read book excerpts, hear me reading my poetry, see me in a movie trailer for a feature-length film documentary on contemporary American poets, and listen to a BBC radio interview.

I love meeting new people, local and abroad.

It's strange every six months or so I have a dream where I am back in New Orleans, even though it's been over 10 years since I lived there.

Looking at your wonderful photos made me even more nostalgic and reminded of what it means to miss New Orleans.

Thanks Again,
Dean

No, I didn't get to see DL this year. Unfortunately, I had to leave DL and all that it represented behind me when I got married 5 years ago. =(

Hey, man! Yeah, I won it in an annual poetry contest put on by Hill College. The most money I ever made for a single poem. I'm just trying to keep up with you, brother.
