Angela Engelman has been pushing the envelope and riding the line from day one. She was 2 years old when she sang her first song (in the back row, during prayer) and hasn't stopped since. With unruly red curls and a sass all her own, she credits her love for country music to an early introduction to Reba.
Angela grew up in a small town outside Nashville traveling and singing with her family's southern gospel band. As a talented dancer, by the age of twelve, Angela started venturing into different styles of music. Listening to everything from jazz, hip-hop and rock 'n roll Angela began to create a style all her own.
At the age of sixteen she was writing and recording her original music, which she has dubbed "southern soul" and by eighteen she was working with some of Nashville's most talented writers and producers.
Angela has continued to push forward on her road to success in the music industry, gathering as much experience as she can and learning from the best that Nashville has to offer. In early '06 Angela met and began working with one of Nashville's most prominent up-and-coming producers Todd Taylor. Together they began working on a project that both showcased Angela's talents as a writer and her versatility as a vocalist.
In the spring of '08 Angela was chosen as one of the 6 finalists on the Next GAC Star. With the recognition from the show Angela was quickly offered a publishing deal with an independent publishing company. Angela signed with Riddle Music in December of '08 and feels blessed to be surrounded by a music family who truly "gets" her unique take on country music and feels that now more than ever she is ready to bring her own sass and style to the country music industry.

Can you do me a big favor? When you get all big and famous like I KNOW you will, please don't turn into an arrogant jerk like some artists out there do, ok? Hahaha.

I know! I totally would have made our picture my default for life. LOL!
I wish that was what I did! I really only travel all over the place to see Jason Aldean and Keith Urban. They're my favorites. Everybody else I usually only see when they are in my area. I would so go to like, 800 of your shows too if you did more of them! You'd probably get sick of me! Haha
I saw that you added a new Nashville show in July. I may have to try to talk my mom into coming down to see you. Think we could butter her up enough?
Ok, disregard my last comment. I thought your show was in July, not June. Humph. Maybe I'll try to make the September one in Murfreesboro. Think you'll be getting anymore shows booked in Nashville around the end of July/early August or so?
Hi Angela! It was fun running into you just hanging out with your friends furing musicfest. I'll be back down the week after the 4th of July. I'll check your page to see if you're singing anywhere. If you ever want to come down to Tootsies and sing let me know. Or if you want to bring your peeps and just hang out that would be cool as well. Have a great week...xo...Darrell
