| General | Storytelling, whether through song, or novels, film or poems. It's all about communication. Right now I'm working on the first of an 18 book crime series. Oh, and there's Jazzing the Blues Away, my gig which will take place on 28th September at Viva Viva on Hornsey High Street, Crouch End, London. JtheBA is about jazz's origins in the blues, it's about opera, it's about classical guitar, and it's about mixing words and music. It's going to be fantastic! | | Music | Mostly jazz. A lot of classical. Some hip hop. Some Indie. Smattering of folk, but not the hick sentimental type, keep it real. Yeah, but mostly jazz. | | Movies | Best all time film? Shawshank Redemption, closely followed by Some Like it Hot. Pan's Labyrinth comes in third. My son thinks Cinema Paradiso is almost better than Shawshank! | | Television | They said put a 'z' here to delete this but it doesn't work. So I guess I watch television. Yeah, I do. CSI, Law and Order, NCIS, Big Brother (though I wish I didn't get hooked on that each year), Heroes - love Heroes. | | Books | Read too many to be able to say. Favourite book used to be The Snow Leopard by Peter Matheison (may have spelt his name wrong - apologies). Now I think it's... um... thinking... | | Heroes | Yeah Heroes!
Saw the Yardbirds and The Zombies from backstage last week! Wow! So cool to see Rod Argent and Colin Blunstone playing together. I remember them from my teens! Oldies but goodies.
Got backstage passes to O2 to see Return to Forever in July - Chick Corea, Al Di Meola, Lenny White and Stanley Clarke. |

About me:
Jazz poetry, songs and music.
I was told at the age of 12 that there wasn't room in class for me to study music. I've been playing catch up ever since. These days I'm a writer with a book out called 'Some Strange Scent of Death', which you can buy in the shops... it's a real book! But I also write jazz poetry and songs and right now I'm having fun seeing what I can do with the music. You can read some of the poems on my blog. Go to Angela's blogspot
I worked for a long time in television as a writer and co-producer of documentaries and some drama. I still write scripts, give workshops and help performers overcome stage fright.

Hi Angie. I wouldn't be worrying about it. its hardly been a fun place to visit for a long time now. You should try Creative Writers, Im sure ive said that before, ok it has a few oddballs like every other writing community but we have Laura as a manager over there and she'd never allow snain like the sorts that keep happening at the dome. Ive actually deleted my poetry cos events over last few days have left me with a bad taste. Dont need that kind of nasty. not thats its been directed at me but i cant even be bothered reading it, especially when its directed at someone who doesnt deserve it. take care, enjoy mars and hopefully see you over at CW. x
