"Angela Reed has the voice of an earth angel-sweet and vibrant and memorable. A rare singer who will fly far."
-Judy Collins
“(Angela) has a voice and feel for her music, giving a strong and compelling performance. Excellent in all areas!”
-Julian Priester (Herbie Hancock/Sun Ra)
“It’s both rare and gratifying to find a writer this young with such a keen eye on the big picture. As if the world’s weight were divided and meted out in lovely ounces of detail and color, this is the writing of a conscious soul. Angela seems to have the fuel for the long haul.”
-Kenny White (Wildflower Records/writer/performer/producer)
”[Angela's] expressive sense of melody…and personal connection with the listener make her a beautiful example of artistry at work.”
-Vashon Loop (Vashon Island, WA)
“[Angela Reed] … is an accomplished singer and songwriter whose energy is clear.”
-Viki Ackland (Lipstikindie.com)
Adding to her debut album Undertone, Angela is currently working on her Sophomore record. Tracks are soon to coming your way, with a release date in 2010. This record, produced by Ryan Hadlock at Bear Creek Studio, will feature Angela's recent work along with such artists as guitarist Tim Young, the everything-keys extraordinaire Kenny White, rhythm section Cody Rahn and Dave Trump, multi-instrumentalist Kimo Muraki, fiddler Ryan McKasson. Many more go unmentioned, but hugely vital and amazing.
Angela was humming before she could talk, writing lyrics and songs in Elementary School, and daydreaming about the fulfilling and exciting life of a musician.
Angela writes and performs engaging and soulful acoustic rock music. She has the songwriting prowess of Joni Mitchell, the independence of style of Ani Difranco, the raw, exposed fire of Melissa Etheridge, and the passion and vocal freedom of Jeff Buckley. Her love of music has taken her from Berklee College of Music (Boston, MA) to graduating from Cornish College of the Arts (Seattle, WA), from growing up singing solos in the choir to performing her own music across the country, from a nervous laugh to owning the stage, from the daydream to reality. She makes her way on stage with grace, confidence, and class. Whether playing solo or with her beloved band Angela makes you believe in love and life as much as she does.
Angela's music fits comfortably nestled in between such rock and pop veterans as Sheryl Crow and Marc Cohn, and younger, energetic acts like Brandi Carlile and Guster.
