old timey things, desolate houses, fields, ideas and conversations that old tiny people would have...you know, if they lived in a tiny house built under a huge flower tree...
thanks for the beautiful poetry you left on my comments. Unfortunately I do not live in LA anymore but I do go up there from time to time and I would love to jam with you. I've actually been playing cave dwellers the last few days. It's one of those chord progressions that I could play over and over and never get tired of it. Reminds me a lot of John Lennon, especially because he plays the same style fingerpicking on "Julia" off the white album. I play a little ukelele as well, so it might be a fun learning experience to get a little jam goin. What part of LA are you from??
gIrrrrl! i love that you want to go back to school. i hope you do because it would make you happy. i want to do that, too actually. i want to get my masters in library science. yikes. i am working. i got another job at another library. i love libraries. so much. too much. is there too much? how is everything? is it getting cold there yet? i'm going to make dinner now. tofu scramble YUM. love you!!! ALOHA!
you're so down with the local speak! you are like the second or third person to tell me about "my antonio" ! i've seen like one episode and will probably try to catch another so i can watch and laugh. omg. now i am blushing. a song about little moi! you are too cutecool! btw, i love harmonicas (is that the correct plural spelling?)...i have fond childhood memories of my dad playing the harmonica. in fact i think he still carries one around with him! how far from the beach do you live over there? must be getting cold there. i just got back from the mainland...seattle/idaho. i wish you lived here instead. tell me about your band! how many will there be?
really lovely new songs. great use of reverb on untitled waltz and that subtle organ on belly deep is just perfect. where can i download these? that's it, i'm buying a ukulele!
p.s. i forgot to mention...we semi-borrowed/stole (for a long period) my sister's uke! we brought it home with us on monday and tony has figured out "while my guitar gently weeps" and "something". it's so fun to pick up the uke and play...at my library there is a book called "the beatles for ukulele". i am so on the waiting list for it!
oh sheesh, you is omnipresent or something similar. um, my favorite thing is hard because i'm indecisive...i love the ocean and trees and leaves and fairies and dogs and tony and kitties and cupcakes and NOT mosquitoes! you could totally surprise me and i'd love it. oh, i clicked on a link and then clicked on a link and saw the "more bars in more places" pic...you are too funny! regarding your new album idea...think of old hawaiian music that hasn't heard the sound of day in 70 years and then add...um, you!
I think life needs a good instrumental every now and then...that was good! I feel a bit like fabric from watching that video...know what I mean jelly bean? What are you doing lately?
hello angela. how are you? thought i might shamefully inform you of some new songs i recorded! (don't worry, this isn't one of those obnoxious generic myspace promotional emails!) i just thought you might be interested to know that you were actually a real influence on these recordings. not only as we constantly referenced 'dropping the writ', but mainly because i really love your songs and the intimacy and vulnerability of your recordings and vocals. anyway, we decided to record it all live to try to capture that and perhaps it doesn't translate, but that's what we were striving for. there's a metaphor here somewhere about a pebble in a pond and the ripples etc., but it escapes me just at the moment. anyway, thank you, take care, love james
cool! new music! i look forward to sampling that. last night i had a dream in which i was surfing...so a day at the beach should happen soon. wish you could come, but i'll enjoy the sun here.
i wish every night was filled with ice cream + angela. next time let's do a real acoustic show outdoors, shall we? maybe we'll be the only ones invited too! love.
