Christy's Interests
|
| General | Knitting, reading, spinning, watching movies, hanging out with friends and family. | | Music | Garth Brooks, Green Day, Clint Black, Clay Walker, Beatles, Glenn Miller, Randy Travis, George Strait...I also seem to have an addiction to soundtracks.
| | Movies | Odd Couple, An Affair to Remember, Spiderman, Matrix, all the Harry Potter movies, Jane Austen novel adaptations, classic Disney (anything after Aladdin kinda sucks). | | Television | My Name Is Earl, What Not to Wear, Chuck, Friends, Heroes, So You Think You Can Dance, Ugly Betty, Doctor Who. | | Books | All Jane Austen, The Stand, Dark Tower series, Eyes of the Dragon, Julia Quinn's Bridgerton series, most anything by Julie Garwood, all the Harry Potter books, Little Women, Eight Cousins, Rose in Bloom, Secret Garden, A Little Princess, Gone With the Wind, any of the Yarn Harlot books. | | Heroes | I wish I could pick a name out of the air, but it seems like my generation doesn't really have heroes. Am I still too young to pull crap phrases like "my generation" out of the air? I figure that at 26 it's ok.
Rather than picking one person, I'm going to say that anyone who stands up for what is right, even when it is unpopular, is a hero. The scientists who are in it for the science and not the money are heroes. The kids in high school who don't abandon their friends if they come out. I'm sure you can come up with better examples than I have. |

About me:
I live in JoCo, but I'm not a typically JoCo girl. Just ask my snobby MO friend, Joe. ;-)
I live in a cluttered apartment with my slightly mental cat, Spaz, and a lot of yarn. And a spinning wheel. I've turned into a fiber nerd...but it's a good thing, I promise. Quiet habit and I hardly ever mind waiting in line anymore!
I am not cool by any means...I've been slotted into the nerd/geek category for a while. I was a geek before geeks were cool, damnit! This is just in comparison to most people, of course. Among the true nerds and geeks, I am just a wannabe. I run linux, but only on my second computer. That sort of thing.
I currently have pink hair, but it's not a rebellious "I want to be different" sort of thing. It's a "I want pink hair" sort of thing. It's not even pink all over. I think my boss would probably have a coronary and I don't want to be responsible for that.
I am trying to de-clutter in my life, but it's hard to do. So far, I've got people at Half-Price Books recognizing me as I bring in yet another tub of books for sale. I figure I have at least two, maybe three tubs of books left. After that, it's time to focus on getting rid of something else. Perhaps CDs and DVDs.
