I have been a vocalist, songwriter ,performer, musician for the last 15 years
born and bred in beautiful Aotearoa New Zealand I now live in London, UK where I am a fulltime artist.
My musical beginnings were in the world of Jazz but since the mid-late 90's my musical direction has been more diverse , I have devoted alot of energy to exploring the use of my voice as an instrument and exploring "Free improvisation" I have in this context performed with many luminaries in the field including Steve Lacy, William Parker, Maggie Nicholls, Phil Minton, and Jeff Henderson.
In conjunction with that I have been recording and performing original material over the last 7-8 years , this music combines many styles including, pop, jazz, folk, dance, rock, and experimental.
I am currently invloved in a long term collaboration creating and performing electronic pop music with the group Bark in Norway and you can hear this music on www.myspace.com/barksmusic.
Other projects include free improv collaborations with dave leahy, F.O A, jamie mccarthy and others, and a touring music/theatre show with musicians Jhanadara, and David Leahy called The pioneers www.myspace.com/3pioneers.
I have recently set up a production company www.seethrewmusic.com to produce much of my work and have enjoyed collaborations with adesola akinlyes dancing strongs site specfic work
I am interested in blurring musical boundaries and creating new genres, writing good songs, and vocal experimentation, and creating great musical relationships.
I also work as a teacher, workshop leader, and composer.

Kurosawa's debut album, 'Your Star Has Fallen Over' is now available from CD Baby as a digital download!
....
Kurosawa is a musical collaboration between Paul Cartwright, Adam Spellicy and Karen Vogt. The result is a graceful collision of soaring, ethereal vocals and lushly atmospheric, infectiously melodic acoustic and electronic sounds.
