Like many growing up in a rough neighborhood, Angel has fought all her life to keep her dream of a music career alive. Growing up in the streets of Newark, your either destined to be a teen mother, on drugs, or in jail. But Angel's dreams were always so much bigger than your average female. Angel's powerful voice can be compared to a bell-like instrument who's soaring clarity is topped off with a tantalizing touch of soulful grit.

Angel started off by perfoming at small venues, lounges and even clubs...which was exactly what she needed to prepare her for what was yet to come. People describe her as being shy, quiet and self reserved, but when Angel gets on stage and in front of the camera, she is the exact opposite. What people love most about Angel is that she is always humble no matter what she accomplish.

She has competeded in and won countless talent shows, but the one that mattered the most was Newark Illustrated Idol because it was the biggest competition in her home town. This is where she caught the attention of Newark's own Soul Diggaz Productions, a R&B/pop production duo composed of Karriem "K-Mack" Mack and Shaun "Bless" Owens, who has worked with Missy Elliott, Madonna, Britney Spears, DAY26, Diddy and more. "....I didnt think I would win," says Angel, "...because there were so many talented people there." But She did. Angel came in first place, and from then on, she was able to do what she loved with more confidence and more people believing in her.

"Everyday is a struggle for me. Being a female trying to make it in a male-dominate industry, you have to be strong minded and stand up for what you believe in, 'cause so many people will try to take advantage of your kindness. But God has held my hand and walked with me all the way, even when I was losing competitions."

Angel has auditioned for television shows MTVs Making The Band, NBC's America's Got Talent, FOX's American Idol four times and several other shows. But she's realized that losing keeps you grounded and sometimes we need to lose so that we can appreciate winning more.

"Aside from winning Newark Illustrated Idol, my biggest accomplishment is staying grounded, being 100% real...and staying true to who I am. I've realized that anything is possible and I will keep dreaming big, so that big things can continue to happen..."
