   About Angelo Bruschini

I am a professional Guitarist with over 20 years experience, and for the last 12 years I have been playing with ‘Massive Attack’, touring and in the studio, writing the guitar and bass parts for albums and films.

Recently:

2006 - I was again with Massive Attack touring including concerts around the world ‘Hollywood Bowl’ (sell out), ’Coachella’, Europe, Southern States, Eastern Europe, Asia. 2005 - World Tour including countries from South America to the Middle East (Balbeck, Lebanon). The same year I provided the guitar work on a Luc Besson film for Universal, “Unleashed” and co-wrote the complete film score for “Past Present Future (Imperfect)” a full-length feature film by a British independent company.

Experience:

Wrote and played guitar for Massive Attack’s albums:
‘Mezzanine’, ‘100th Window’, ‘Collected’, and the forth coming next album.

Played on film scores for major film companies and British Independent companies: ‘Blade’, ‘The Beach’, ‘Day of the Jackal’, ‘187’, ‘Snatch’, ‘ID’, ‘Battle in Seattle’ (release date 2008).

Wrote and co-wrote tracks for British and USA major television programs: ‘CSI and CSI Miami’, ‘Merseybeat’, ‘Disney’, ‘More 4’.

Numerous appearances on TV shows: ‘Jools Holland’, ‘Graham Norton’, ‘Abbey Road’, and International TV. Guitar works on various advertisements: ‘Adidas’, ‘BBC News 24’, ‘Cannon’, ‘Sony’, ‘Guardian’.

Previously I played and wrote Guitar for the “Pop Art” Band ‘Blue Aeroplanes’ (1989 – 1996) notably on albums:
‘Swagger’, ‘Spitting Out Miracles’, ‘Bop Art’, ‘Tolerance’, ‘Beat Songs’, ‘Life Model’. Plus world tours, singles, Best Of’s, etc.

Artist’s worked with:
Ronnie Size, Sinead O’Connor, Horace Andy (Jamaica), Alison Moyet, Goldfrapp, Arielle (France), Liz Fraser, Insects, Strangelove, Tom McCray, Oyster Band.

Promotion and public relations experience. Experience with British and International Studios, eg OceanWay, LA, USA.

Excerpt from "American Press" Article 2006:
“Although the award for the most gifted musician with a consistent and raw performance throughout the set goes to the guitarist Angelo Bruschini. Just when I thought I wasn't feeling a song and the direction was going nowhere Angelo would take over and rip through the song with a god-like psychedelic force that would make any metal or acid head appreciate the sounds this man was making from his guitar. Ok he wasn't as much as overtaking the song, but getting it into a direction that the song wouldn't have gone if he hadn't been there. Honestly he held the entire band together at some parts and would entrance one to the point of no return on such songs as "Safe From Harm" and "Group 4."

Alongside of my 12 year career with Massive Attack my work has spanned a diverse path from acting as Alison Moyet’s Musical Director of her live shows in 2003 (including hiring the musicians), to writing with Robert Delnaja (3D) a sound track for a Pornographic film “Uranus Experiment” having the auspicious claim to being the first ever zero gravity cum shot filmed!

New Tracks and News June 2008
New tracks have been added to the site today:

1. The Controls 'Can you Hear Me' taken from a cassette demo produced in 1981. The band always seemed to be playing at The Green Rooms on King Street if I remember corrrectly.

2. Sneak Preview 'Slugweird' recorded as a demo/live and not the version on the famous 'Avon Calling' album. Hopefully we will release an albums worth of material very soon.

3. Pola 'Picture Of Autumn' - a real gem of a find. This track is taken from an albums worth of material recorded by Paul Sandrone and John Tuft. Paul was the main songwriter in Thin Air and then in later life signed to Polydor with Raissa. Paul now lives in Brighton, John is still in Bristol. We have the Thin Air album being mastered as I write this, maybe we will get permission for the Pola release in due course.

4. Either /Or 'The Big Film' ah the very wonderful Key brothers Jonjo and Robin. Recorded as demo straight to 4 track we will have an albums worth of material as soon as Jonjo pieces everything together. Check out The Various Artists album as Either /Or followed this fab band when the guys split up.

5. The Escape 'I'll Pretend To Kill You' lifted from the single released in 1982. Alan Griffiths formed this band after Apartment split up. The man is and was a genius and fingers crossed we will have an album from The Escape and some of Alan's other projects very soon.

6. Viceroys 'Angels In The Rain' lifted from the Fried Egg Records World Tour single released in 1980. The band was fronted by Mike Crawford who in later life appeared fronting The Spics - we will rerelease The Spics single next month.

Other News:

The website www. bristolarchiverecords. com is now in the process of being constructed.

We have the Bristol Recorder 2 and the Thin Air album being mastered this week.
In another studio we have all the Fried Egg 7" singles being remastered

..> ELECTRIC GUITARS - Interview

It's noon and there isn't a lot happening in the dilapidated Redland house which until recently served as HQ for the Electric Guitars. I had been let into the house by Rachel, who was setting about clearing up some of the debris in the kitchen - the result of five ravenous souls returning in the early hours after a recording session in London. But of the five Guitars there was as yet no sign, Rachel informing me that Andy was tucked up in bed in his flat somewhere in Clifton, Matthew was out jogging - well drummers must keep fit! - and the others were away in the Land of Nod.

After a couple of cups of tea my patience was finally rewarded by the appearance of a haggard and drawn Richard staggering into the kitchen, followed shortly afterwards by an equally worse for wear Dick. An adequate reflection of the perils of trying to become rock stars, I take pity on their condition and wait a few minutes more before plunging into that time-honoured journalistic ritual of discussion of developments and problems. Fortunately once life-giving fluids and the first cigarette of the day had been consumed the grey matter made a brave attempt at re-assembling themselves and some form of coherence asserted itself.

Electric Guitars were formed two years ago and made their recorded debut on the first volume of the innovative and imaginative 'Bristol Recorder' disc/magazine. The four Guitars contributions were, as with the other,
