Iris Harden and Thomas (aka Tlee) Brooks reside in a small town near Augusta, Ga. Both have musical accomplishments in their own right. They met during 2000 elections when they co-wrote a novelty song which aired on Fox News called “Who Is Our President?”. They’ve gone on to release dozens of songs and CDs. They share a genuine love for music and creativity. Their 911 CD is a heartfelt tribute to America. The words were written from Iris’ hospital bed. They also produced a country CD called Truckin’ On. Surviving the Storms was released shortly after Katrina hit and is meant to bring hope and inspiration to anyone needing hope. They pledged a percentage from each sale to Charity. They had no idea at the time their home was poisoning them, although they knew something was toxic. They hope be instrumental in obtaining victim’s rights & reaching out to others in love.
Their individual backgrounds:
Iris spent most of her life in SC. She became church pianist & organist at the age of 12. She held this position until moving to Georgia in 2001. Writing songs & lyrics are still a big part of who she is. Iris has written many special tribute songs for the troops, Veterans, children, homeless, disabled, sick, MADD and God. She hopes to co-write an environmental CD to help mold victims and all who suffer from environmental illnesses.
Iris attended Bible College at Soaring High School of Ministry in Augusta, Ga. She studied under Apostle Tom Blackwood. She went on the mission field in New Laredo, Mexico. Many lived in shacks with no running water or were homeless. Some walked 25 miles for the soup kitchen they set up. They provided them with clothes, shoes and toys (a rarity for the poor in this country) and God's love.

Iris and Tlee wrote a statement narrative song with music called Break The Mold. It was written on behalf of Dr. Ari Vojdani and to everyone who works on behalf of mold victims. It also shares the reality of how serious this problem is and the lack of education the general public has. The chaos you hear at one point in the song is how a mold victim feels when consumed with this illness.
Tlee was born and raised in Alexandria, Va. He is a self-taught musician and entertainer. He traveled the Midwest for about 15 years, mainly with show and top forty groups, then returned back to the DC area doing clubs concerts and various recording projects.
While working and touring with Big Al Downing, his group opened for Merle Haggard at the Capital
Centre.
He also backed up such artists as Del Shannon, Bobby Goldsboro, Jeannie C. Reilly and spent 3 months working with Billy Joe Shaver, recent inductee into the CMA Songwriter’s Hall of Fame.
Moving his base to Atlanta, he picked with friends, and started independent recording work, along with writing original music. He received Musician of the Year in 1994 from The Atlanta Society of Entertainers.
He began composing & recording in the past 6 years in home type studio. He tries to excel in this work, having done music styles from bluegrass to jazz. His approach is, “It’s a good feeling to do the correct work on a piece of music, and have it turn out a pleasure to listen to.
Since their diagnosis & loss of possessions, they are no longer able to do the studio work. After nearly a year of homelessness, they're rebuilding their health & lives. Tlee & Iris were recently married in a simple ceremony. An empty but safe residence, they are truly a miracle of love..
Only three red roses, yet so much love..that was more than enough. They hope to share their story, music and faith in God & to be a blessing and support to others.
Despite all the factors that affect our lives, none have as much potential power as our ability to dream. Our hopes and dreams can drive us; help us to overcome the many obstacles in our paths. Follow your dreams..even in the midst of your struggles. Keep hope and know that you are not alone.
Music will always be a part of who Iris & Tlee are. Many of their songs and lyrics are of hope, courage, love and inspiration.
