About THE ANGEL PIER

Three parts Irish to one part Canadian, The Angel Pier kicked off 2009 with a storming show to a packed Whelans in Dublin, showcasing new songs including two the band have just finished recording with Jimmy Eadie (Asylum Studios - Jape, David Kitt, Valerie Francis, One Day International).

The Angel Pier, who in early May 2009 headlined the 'Best Of' IMRO Showcase Tour gig at The Village in Dublin, have been called by the Irish press a band that “really does have it all…and the sheer guts to make music that they genuinely want to”. Unhinged classic pop melodies, layered looping drums and brooding bass, a confrontational guitarist with severe riff-tourette’s and a melancholic vocalist with dark lyrical tendencies, The Angel Pier are ploughing their own furrow in a world of fads and fashions.

The new recordings will be released August 6th as a limited 7” and meanwhile the band have completed dates across Ireland in a co-headline tour with The Kinetiks. You can catch The Angel Pier over the summer at Oxegen and Castlepalooza festivals in Ireland.

The debut album will follow later this year.
