Write something to suit yourself and many people will like it; write something to suit everybody and scarcely anyone will care for it.
Jesse Stuart
Only as you do know yourself can your brain serve you as a sharp and efficient tool. Know your own failings, passions, and prejudices so you can separate them from what you see.
Bernard M. Baruch (1870 - 1965)
It is easier to live through someone else than to become complete yourself.
Betty Friedan (1921 - 2006)
I am not afraid of the pen, or the scaffold, or the sword. I will tell the truth wherever I please.

Typos are very important to all written form. It gives the reader something to look for so they aren't distracted by the total lack of content in your writing.

Art is science made clear.
Jean Cocteau (1889 - 1963)
The moment we begin to fear the opinions of others and hesitate to tell the truth that is in us, and from motives of policy are silent when we should speak, the divine floods of light and life no longer flow into our souls.

Fleur-de-Lis Symbol of New Orleans
The history of the fleur-de-lis and New Orleans French heritage dates back to 1682 when a plaque with the French fleur-de-lis was erected on Louisiana soil in the name of God and the French king.
The fleur-de-lis translates into English as the "lily flower." It serves as the emblem for the city of New Orleans and represents the unique cultural history of the city. You will find the fleur-de-lis used in much of the architecture, as well as, art and decorative ware. The fleur-de-lis is also part of the city's official flag, as well as, the official logo for the New Orleans Saints.
Since Hurricane Katrina the fleur-de-lis has become the symbol of unity to those supporting the rebirth of New Orleans.
I enjoy spending time with my son, writing poetry, reading, computer graphics, arcades (air hockey rocks!), pizza, new found interest in cooking new things, music, people watching, ghost stories, New Orleans (all the old buildings and stuff), antiques, making new friends, talking on the phone and playing with my son. (I mentioned that again on purpose)
I think you would be totally surprised at the types of music I listen to. I've been told that I don't look like the type that would listen to bands like NIN, Tool or Rob Zombie. But my interests don't stop there. I listen to trance, techno, R&B, Jazz, pop (as long as it's not too much bubble gum), oldies, old 70's rock like Led Zepplin, I'm a HUGE 80's fan (especially underground 80's) and I've been known to listen to SOME country but I'll never admit to liking it.
Television
Ok, normally I'm forced to watch Cartoon Network, Nickelodeon or my son's movies (mostly fun kid stuff), but I do have times when I have tv to myself. When that rare opportunity comes up I watch mostly Law & Order (special victims is my fav), NCIS, CSI, Without A Trace, Criminal Minds...shows that make you think. I also have my moments where I want laughs like Everyone Loves Raymond, Two and Half Men, and whatever other funny shows I happen to surf onto when I'm in control. hehehe Um...I'll admit to watching Spongebob and I love the episode of Foster's Imaginary Friends called "Cheese". It's hysterical! Yeah, maybe "forced" is a little harsh since my son and I laugh together about some of his shows.
Books
I recently read "A Million Little Pieces". Someone on a plane felt he had to tell me that it's not really a true story. I really don't care. The fact is so far it's a very good book. I finally finished "Memoirs of a Geisha". I think I put off finishing it for as long as I could because I didn't want it to end. The movie was a total disappointment! Read the book!!! yeah, yeah...it's true, I'm a Potter fan! Outlaw Bible of American Poetry...READ IT!, "Post Office" by Charles Bukowski, and "The Movie Goer" by Walker Percy.....so many more...just go to the bookstore and read dammit!
Heroes
My hero is my Dad. He was everything that I feel a true humanitarian should be and more. I haven't met anyone as great since. I miss him so much.
About me:
I am an Aquarius. Dive as deep into that thought as you feel. But as far as I know I am pretty much just like they describe an Aquarius to be.
I enjoy learning people. So, if ever you're out with me and I'm quiet it's not because I'm bored, it's because I'm studying you or the people around us. People keep me curious. You never know what reactions they might take to different situations. And yet there are some that you can just guess what they'll do every time. Those are the ones that will deny adamantly that they won't do the things that you know they will eventually do. And those are also the ones that tend to break my heart.
I daydream a lot. Perhaps it's the Aquarius thing and maybe it's the creative artistic side of me. I dream of things that could be and things that I know never will be. That's the point of dreaming, right?
My son is the sunshine in my life. He is the most perfect thing I've ever done. Yes, I'll admit to doing a lot of stupid things...lessons learned...move on. Life would not be as great without my little cherub in my life. He and I watch cartoon network, nickelodeon and Disney or pixar movies. Sometimes he'll show off his keen x-box skillz...he's so cute! Sometimes we'll cook together or do artsy crafts together. He's very creative. There's no sweeter sound in the world better than hearing him laugh and giggle or hearing him say, "I love you Mommy."
Let's see...misc. things about me...I love to laugh (my son helps with that), and I also love to make others laugh. I can be quite the smartass at times. Honestly if you can't handle that kind of humor then tell me from the start. I have my rants when I can be quite harsh and it's all in jest...never meant to hurt. That could be the Aquarius thing and it also could be the redhead thing. Your choice. I was an art major and minor in psychology. I like to read whenever I get a chance. I'm a good listener and a good friend. I always love meeting new people and making new friends and having fun.
If you still want to know more then message me. Also, I'm not one to do a quick add of friends on here. Message me first and we'll see from there...
Who I'd like to meet:
Honestly I'd like to meet...anyone fun and who knows the true meaning of friendship. People of substance that know about mutual respect and honesty. Don't disrespect me because I find it hard to forgive. As far as famous people I'd like to meet, I really wouldn't know where to begin. I would LOVE to have a conversation with DaVinci though. :)
He pulls out his most comfortable sweatshirt and lovingly unfolds it and slips it quickly on. The smell is familiar and sweet, it fits exactly right. He didnt know exactly how much he had missed hug of the fabric, or how it made him feel. Memory floored him as he contemplated the find. It was NOT lost, it was BACK where he needed it. Covering his chest and creating smiles of aproval in consecutive lasting waves. He missed his shirt. I dont have to tell you its color.
My literary magazine, The Toronto Quarterly - Issue 2 and 3 are now available at amazon.com. There's some great poetry in each issue along with some cool interviews with up and coming and more established poets. Here is the link:

I've read "Post Office" as well and really enjoyed it. I've never heard of "The Movie Goer", but I will definitely check it out. I've never been into the Harry Potter thing, but maybe one day. Ha. Hope all is well with you and your family, and your holidays were joyful.
