With over 150,000+ unique visitors a month, I'm the senior editor of NewReleaseTuesday.com, which is one of the largest Christian entertainment Web sites on the net. As senior editor, I get the opportunity to interview artists who share some of the most fascinating and compelling stories of how they overcame adversity. They've learned from their past victories and mistakes and use these experiences to create music that is passionate, powerful and straight from the heart.
One of my most celebrated interviews was with frontman Joshua Brown, who left Full Devil Jacket to form a sizzling rock group called Day of Fire, with guitarist/songwriter Gregg Hionis. Their self-titled debut, released on Essential Records (SonyRed), has a phenomenal line-up of collaborators who were part of this unforgettable, Dove Award-winning and Grammy-nominated project. Their producer, Scott Humphrey, has worked with Metallica, Motley Crue, Fleetwood Mac, The Cult, Rob Zombie and many other renowned artists. The stellar who's who of musicians include Chris Chaney on bass (Jane's Addiction); Gary Novak on drums (Alanis Morissette & jazz great, Chick Corea); Phil X on guitar (originally from Triumph), who has worked with Alice Cooper, Rob Zombie, Andrew W.K., NSYNC and Avril Lavigne; and last but not least, Matthew Nelson (of '90s sugar-metal band, Nelson fame) doing back-up vocals.
