Fall Out Boy, Panic! At The Disco, Gym Class Heroes, The Academy Is..., Cobra Starship, The Hush Sound, Butch Walker, The Bronx, Endeverafter, The Pack, Boys Like Girls, Armor For Sleep
What do you get if you bring together the Midas touch of music aficionados at Crush Management and some of their artists: Fall Out Boy, Gym Class Heroes, The Academy Is…, Cobra Starship and singer/songwriter/ producer, Butch Walker with their extended family; Island Def Jam, Atlantic Bad Boy Records, I Surrender Records and Yellow Fever ‘Jamison Ernest, Brooklyn Beat /Wmg- you get one hell of a party!
All the above have joined forces and invested in what will ultimately be the rock ‘n’ roll hot spot of New York. 'Angels and Kings' @ 500 East 11th Street, Avenue A is a new bar which will take shape as a Mecca for music. Scheduled to open at the end of the month (April 30th for the launch event and beginning of May open to the public), Angels and Kings is not a red-roped, $200 bottle, table service venue; in fact it is the antithesis to how most bars have become on the neighboring Lower East side. The vibe is underground and gritty’, and the venue is perfect for intimate live music and whatever else rock stars get up to behind closed doors!
“I think it is important to have a place to call your own, that way you can always get in and never have to complain about your crappy friends getting kicked out. Angels and Kings will be amazing, it’s gonna be more of a clubhouse than anything else to me. In my head when I walk into bars I’m always like "this place wouldn't suck so much if..." and this is our chance to make that happen. It will be a place that all of us can come and hang out. You’re going to see me behind the turntables or behind the bar whenever I can. Sometimes… you wanna go where everyone knows your name."
Pete Wentz, Fall Out Boy, Decaydance Records
Expect anything and everything from band ‘karaoke’ hosted by Yellow Fever’s, Jamison Ernest, where patrons can be the front man/woman of their favorite bands (at least for a night) to album-listening parties and maybe even band on band, ‘bragging rights’ arm-wrestling competitions.
“Its something we’ve always wanted to do. We used to hang at places like Z Bar and Alcatraz in the same neighborhood. I haven’t found a place with a vibe like that since then, so we are creating it for today. It’s also good with the bands we have coming through town all the time, a place where they can feel at home.”
Bob McLynn, Co-President, Crush Management.
