Sounds Like
People will often say a bit of Tori Amos mixed with some early Kate Bush (who was discovered only after receiving these comments!!!), some Coldplay and Radiohead with a dash of Damien Rice and Sarah Slean. But in all sounds like Angie...
"Montreal based recording artist, Angie Arsenault, released her long awaited debut album 'Once Upon a Dream', which was completely funded by 531 fans via www.sellaband.com, on the 5th of February 2009. The semi-concept album (potently soulful, slow-burning pop-rock epics that at times recall a Tori Amos or Amy Lee in their intensity, or perhaps a Coldplay or Radiohead in their breadth) explores internalized dream space as it relates to externalized expression."
My name is Angie Arsenault and I'm a Montreal (Canada) based recording artist & performer. My debut album 'Once Upon a Dream' was released on the 5th of February 2009 and was completely funded by fans via www.sellaband.com. 'Once Upon a Dream' is a semi concept album that explores different levels of consciousness, questioning the meaning behind dreams. The 10 songs (plus various interludes) range from dark, moody and intense vibes to light, uplifting and soothing, and feature an instrumental core of piano, bass, drums and cello, augmented by more strings and guitars.
My story began in rural Prince Edward Island, Canada with my mother sitting across from me on the living room floor strumming her guitar as we both sang “How far is Heaven”, an old Kitty Wells song. I admit, it was a pretty depressing song for a 4 year old, but is probably the song that led me onto the path of longing for the beautiful darkness of sad melancholic melodies.
I continue to write new songs and regularly perform in small venues throughout Montreal, Toronto, eastern Canada and even had the chance to perform in Hollywood a few years back, which was really amazing. I hope that I will make my way across the Atlantic soon to perform a few shows...
No matter the outcome of all this, I don’t think I could ever stop making music by choice… it isn’t a choice for me. It just is. Life is an adventure. Let’s keep our eyes open, our hearts on our sleeves and our spirits alive… and hope to meet at a concert someday soon!!!

How are you doing? Congratulations for winning that 6pack competition! I would have voted for you of course but I missed it :( Actually I'm not checking Sellaband as soon as I used to. I'm afraid it's dying a bit and the recents "upgrade" have not improved the situation!! Only Katie seems on a winning ride at the moment. I'm really sad for the poor Lori who would have deserved to be at 50k for a long time :(
I didn't go to Canada in May, I had to cancel my trip because I was too busy. So no Toronto for me :( But I will eventually come back and visit again Montreal! Keep me up-to-date with upcoming gigs!
beuty, sadness, peacefullness, lonelyness...that's my feelings listening to your beautiful voice and your great compostions You move me Thanks for being my friend Hugs Mindmovie
Happy Canada Day Angie! Hope you've been well lately? How is summer in Montreal this year? I can't believe it's been almost a year since we met. Time passes by very quickly !! Have you some plans for summer holidays?
Salut Angie ! Merci pour l'ajout! Grâce à Kamelot, j'ai découvert ton Myspace et tes jolies mélodies. Quel talent. J'aime beaucoup ton univers, ta magie, ta personnalité... J'espère vite me procurer ton disque. Viens-tu en France pour les concerts? Dark kiss ~
