rest in peace Toshiba laptop. You were short lived but I'm sure the abuse of 3 lil boys contributed to your demise. I'll miss you.Mood: melancholy melancholyPosted at 1:32 AM Sep 27 view more

I love music but hardly have time to listen anymore. Kids tend to take over the music time.

But I'm currently listening to: Caedmon's Call, Chronicles and Overdressed. Here's an excerpt of my fave songs...

    Well this day's been crazy
    But everything's happened on schedule,
from the rain and the cold
To the drink that I spilled on my shirt.
'Cause You knew how You'd save me
before I fell dead in the garden,
    And You knew this day
long before You made me out of dirt.

And You know the plans that You have for me
And You can't plan the end and not plan the means
And so I suppose I just need some peace,
Just to get me to sleep

    "Sacred"
this house is a good mess
    it’s the proof of life
no way would I trade jobs
    but it don’t pay overtime

    I’ll get to the laundry
    I don’t know when
    I’m saying a prayer tonight
    cause tomorrow it starts again

could it be that everything is sacred?
    and all this time
    everything I’ve dreamed of
has been right before my eyes

    the children are sleeping
but they’re running through my mind
    the sun makes them happy
and the music makes them unwind

    my cup runneth over
and I worry about the stain
teach me to run to You
like they run to me for every little thing

when I forget to drink from you
I can feel the banks harden
Lord, make me like a stream
    to feed the garden

    wake up, little sleeper
    the Lord, God Almighty
    made your Mama keeper
    so rise and shine
    rise and shine cause

    everything is sacred
    and all this time
    everything I’ve dreamed of
has been right before my eyes

    Books that changed my life:

Ok, so nothing can top the Bible, God's Word, Truth. A good friend once told me, "This is the only book you'll read in which the Author is always with you." Good point.

This is one author's take of Hosea (story in the Bible), set in pilgrim times, when people were settling the West. This is one book that will stick with me forever. Caution: not for young readers. The author was once a romance writer, and while everything is done gracefully, it's about a prostitute, so ya know...

Highly recommend it! It gave me a real appreciation for missionaries, what they do and what they go thru. And I was amazed at how you can see God's timing, provision, and protection of these girls. It even made me tear up when they talked of the joy of walking thru the streets of Afghanistan, celebrating freedom from tyranny under Taliban! Very encouraging, even convicting book. Made me grateful for all the riches in my life, and my freedom. And made me want to give more and reach out more to those who are less fortunate.

Update: I was able to hear Heather Mercer give a talk about her new mission in Iraq. It was INCREDIBLE. She has been there since 2003 in Kurdistan (Northern, more peaceful Iraq) reaching the Kurdish people. It is amazing what God is doing! If you want to learn more about it, go to freedomcenteriraq.org. You may also want to check out: globalhope.com.

Also, I just saw National Geographic Channel run a show called "Inside Saddam's Reign of Terror". It went into depth about how the Kurdish people went through a holocaust by the Iraqi gov't (Saddam). Definitely for mature eyes, it rips your heart out for these people, who went through incredible suffering in the late '80s liken to what the Jews went through in the 30s!! If you can see this show, it's worth watching.

Yes, it's very stressful. Unfortunately, Tristan's dad wants Tristan to live with him, but doesn't realize that it isn't always a good thing to do this. Thanks for the prayers!

Yeah, it made me laugh so hard yesterday. Vickie called and asked if we could have a girls sleep over at my house, so I was like um, yeah, whats going on? She told me about their fishing trip... Dad and Charlies... So I kinda got upset that Charlie didn't tell me about it. I called Dad and asked him how long they have had this planned and he was like well, it's 6:50 right now... So about 1 1/2 hours. LOL. Must be nice to get up and go, huh? I wish you were here!
