As a drummer, John Bonham, Ian Paice, Vinnie Appice was inspirational at a very early age, but that would be dating me. I am a very big fan of old school metal, and heavy music. Sabbath, Ozzy, Maiden, Dio, Zep, Purple, Malmstein, Queensryche, Alice in Chains, ect. These bands to me had a couple common threads : Great Singers, and great guitar players. Music today has some great tone going on. I still like things heavy and loud, I'm digging Mudvayne, Korn, Slipnot, Seven Dust, bands like Lamb of God are just insane precision. On the other hand, love the Peppers, Incubus, old Pearl Jam, and all the other bands that are providing great tone, and melodies. Locally I support all the bands that have made a name for themselves. Killswitch totally has it going on for my likings. Shadows Fall, Staind, their all great bands.
Hey I'm a studio guy! I have to have an appreciation for all music that is performed and presented well no matter what style!
