AngryLand is a three-piece high intensity groove band from St. Louis MO. with lots of energy and power from the ground up. This trio of guys was formed up in late 1999. On guitar and lead vocals is Lee Hefley, on the drums is Derick Hux, and on bass is Robert Smith.
When the self-titled AngryLand CD was released it immediately was played on the St. Louis air-ways such as KSD 93.7 Mr. Drew Johnson was the DJ at such time. Mr. Asher Ben Ruben (SMASH) was also a DJ at KSD 93.7, the two gentlemen played two songs frequently, also these two DJs helped promote the band, whenever possible, with local air-play and live interviews in the radio station studios.
AngryLand has also been featured on K-SHE 95, the station had a show called "New Rock Interactive" they have two bands paired up and the listeners can call in and vote on who sounds the best to them. AngryLand was paired up with a current rock band "Soul Asylum". All the callers that responded voted AngryLand ..1, they ended up with 90% of the votes, which made AngryLand's confidence very strong. The band has also been featured on 104.1 Extreme Radio. And now gets some air play on the local show on 105.7 the Point which Cornbread hosts... thanks to him local bands get heard..Thanks again Cornbread.. join him at Pops on Sundays for the local show live...
What makes the high-intensity of this trio? It is Lee Hefley's catchy guitar hooks and vocals, rounding out the rhythm section on bass is Robert Smith, playing and writing with Lee for over 15 years. They just seem to have a chemistry together that is very hard to come by. When it comes to breaking out the thundering drums in this powerful trio, Derick Hux is very focused and very dedicated to playing his instrument.
The band is looking forward to getting back to the stages in the St. Louis area..
