After years of oblivion (from 1988 to 1994), passed to write pieces without having a band, in 1995, the guitarist LGD (Luigi Guarino D.), forms the first and precarious formation of the ANGUISH FORCE, then known only as ANGUISH.
The intent of LGD was to play the kind of music, with which he was growing up in the glorious '80ies and that in the ten-year period in course, he was polluting himself true distant influences away from the classic Heavy Metal.
And with this, going completely countercurrent, he decided to put all his influences in the band, starting from Hard Rock, passing onto Heavy Metal, Speed and Power, arriving to Trash. Well, a real fluttered True Metal that still puts in difficulty whoever tries to label the style of this band.
It is not easy to find a stable formation, in a period in which proposing a type from Defenders was equivalent to aim itself a gun to the temple, but LGD never gave up and after a weathervane of substitutions, he began to find more stable elements.
So, from 1998 in then, the first premature Demos began to come out, followed by their first homonymous CD in 2003.
After the first work in the studio, the band does his first leap of quality and to propose themselves more in live seats, participating also at some festivals reliefs.
At the end of 2003, the band decides to change their name passing from ANGUISH to ANGUISH FORCE and so, in 2005 the second album with the title "2: City of Ice" gets released.
In the same year, the new singer Johnny Thunder (Giovanni Callegari) comes into the band and in 2006 the band registers the single "Defenders united“.
2007 was conditioned by a serious accident, which occurred to LGD‘s pulse, he seriously risked a premature conclusion of his career as a guitarist and that held ANGUISH FORCE motionless for a long period of time. A large attitude and a special willpower did help that the articulations of the hand began again to work properly.
2008 is the year of the concept "III: Invincible Imperivm Italicvm", this CD presents itself as the most ambitious one, which has ever been produced by this band..
At the end of the year, returns the bassist Rudymental to the band, who already played in the past formation and at the beginning of 2009, the drummer Oerf and the second guitarist Pompeo. The band is in the process of releasing a new album and to collection old unpublished songs, completely rearranged and recorded.
LA STORIA
Dopo anni di oblio (dal 1988 al 1994), passati a scrivere pezzi senza avere una band, nel 1995, il chitarrista LGD (Luigi Guarino D.), forma la prima e precaria formazione degli ANGUISH FORCE, allora solo ANGUISH. L'intento di LGD era quello di suonare il genere con cui era cresciuto nei gloriosi anni '80 e che nella decade in corso si stava inquinando da influenze sempre più lontane dall'Heavy Metal classico. E fu così, che andando completamente controcorrente, decise di mettere tutte le sue influenze nella band, partendo dall'Hard Rock, passando per l'Heavy, lo Speed e il Power, fino ad arrivare al Thrash. Insomma, un vero frullato True Metal che tuttora mette in difficoltà chiunque tenti di etichettare in un unico genere la band. Non fu facile trovare una formazione stabile in un periodo in cui proporre un genere da Defenders equivaleva a puntarsi una pistola alla tempia, ma LGD non si diede mai per vinto e dopo una girandola di sostituzioni, cominciò a trovare elementi via via sempre più stabili. Così, dal 1998 in poi, cominciarono ad uscire i primi acerbi Demos e nel 2003 uscì il primo e omonimo CD. Dopo il primo lavoro in studio, la band fa un primo salto di qualità e a proporsi sempre di più in sede live, partecipando anche ad alcuni festival di rilievo. A Fine 2003, la band decide di cambiare il nome passando da ANGUISH ad ANGUISH FORCE e così, nel 2005 esce il secondo album dal titolo “2: City of Ice”. Nello stesso anno, arriva nel gruppo il cantante Johnny Thunder (Giovanni Callegari) e nel 2006 la band registra il singolo “Defenders united. Il 2007 è condizionato da un grave incidente capitato al polso di LGD che ha seriamente rischiato di fargli prematuramente concludere la carriera di chitarrista e che ha tenuto fermi gli ANGUISH FORCE per un lungo periodo. Solo la grande attitudine e una particolare forza di volontà hanno fatto sì che le articolazioni della sua mano ricominciassero a funzionare degnamente. Il 2008 è l'anno del concept “III: Invincibile Imperivm Italicvm”, disco che si presenta come il più ambizioso finora prodotto dalla band. A fine 2008 rientra nella band il bassista Rudymental che già in passato aveva militato in formazione e a inizio 2009 il batterista Oerf e il secondo chitarrista Pompeo. Il gruppo si appresta a far uscire un nuovo album e una raccolta di vecchi inediti completamente riregistrati.
