I’ve been playing the accordion since I was 5 years old (can’t actually remember not playing an accordion..) and the piano since I was 14. I started off with Scottish trad music but against my will at the time moved to classical music for a few years then it was back to the world of trad for a while playing in ceilidh bands.
I’ve been working as a session musician for the last 7 years and I have been lucky enough in that time to record and perform with many amazing artists and musicians including Yusuf Islam (Cat Stevens), Sir Paul McCartney, Maartin Allcock, Rick Nowels, Craig David, Nick Bict & Dr Fred Freeman.
I recorded my first album ’long road’ in 1999 then recorded two albums (simple tricks & 18 months later) with Ruaridh Campbell and in 2006 we were nominated for the folk band of the year at the Scottish Trad Awards.

Hey mate, almost there! Slight hitch... Paul has an ear infection, so we start mixing next week, mastering the week after next! He can only hear out of one ear at the mo, could have been the only musician in 40 years to bring out a mono album....ha! How's tricks? Col=)
Hey Gus. Long time no.... anything. Thought I'd drop in to say Hello. And it genuinely has nothing to do with a certain football match that's taking place tonight. Hope all is well in your world, but I hope you have a rubbish night tonight! :) Much love. xxx
How the heck are you? I haven't checked myspace for quite a while. Its weird to find a message from you when just a few minutes ago, I watched a video I just got of you and Ruaridh playing the lament for Jack Millikin at Ness Creek. I've asked the maker of the video for permission to post it on the Ness Creek Facebook page so will let you know when it is up and running! I'm so disappointed you are not coming to Ness Creek this year. Are you sure you can't come? I was sorely tempted to go to the camp in B.C. that you are teaching at but would have to skip out on a family reunion and would feel way too guilty. One of my other favourite teachers will be there - Gord Stobbe. I really think you should try to do Ness Creek - I'll get a couple of house concerts together if that helps.
TapeOp. com Don't know if I mentioned this to you, but if you don't already subscribe to this free mag you should! Gran's House won't know whats hit it! Col=)
Great to meet you at the weekend there man. Thanks so much for writing out my tune for everyone! It was a lot of fun playing in Fribox Club too although who's that nutter on guitar, think he took a wrong turn shouldn't he have been playing at Monsters of Rock 2008?
Crunchie Boy!!!!!! Sitting drinking Tim Hortons, trying to recover from a wild night out.... wow I feel so Canadian!! Col=) P.S Jeanie Broon is a legend!
