Ok...here is a video that first got me started on many many paths to music...imagine back into the early 80's big hair bands were all the rage and they left me feeling empty and alone in a musical void. Maybe it is just me that cannot stand bands like Poison and Motley Crue and as such this was an oasis in a desert I had never known...this led to my discovery of Billie Holliday, Ella Fitgerald, Etta James and all the greats...it may not synch up, but I have never forgotten this version.
I also want to stave of comments of a white man singing about a lynching...I had the great fortune to hear Sting interviewed about this very song and why he chose to perform it. He spoke of his great respect for Billie Holliday and the issues that she faced, and considering where he was singing it and with whom he was singing it, it is a tribute and a picking up of the proverbial torch to fight for a quite noble cause.
Hence without further ado...

I take what I want from movies...if I don't like it...I don't like it...but it is not up to me to decide what others should like.
However, I will weigh in on a fantastic actor...I do so love Gene Wilder...he is an absolute genius.
Who I'd like to meet: People from all walks of life...
One person who is an enormous inspiration to me that I have yet to meet, is Nick Woolsey...look for him at Playpoi.com. Or you could just go through my friends list too. (Chuckles)
I would also Love to meet Sage...whom I find to be an amazing strong female. Another spinner as well...
Dallas was a lot of fun, wasn't it? I definitely want to come back when we can. The Lizard Lounge was a marvelous venue, too. I really like the folks there.
