Anima – Ali Calderwood and Daniela Broder create emotionally stirring and inspirational music covering a range of genres from Acoustic and New Age to Electronica and Dance.

Described by Kindred Spirit Magazine as "Powerful and hauntingly beautiful", Anima's music is infused with sacred energy; exhibiting a variety of instruments from crystal bowls, flutes and didgeridoo, with medicine drums and guitar, amidst spacious soundscapes and deep fluid textures with evocative vocals.

Ali Calderwood began Anima in 2004, releasing two solo albums before coming together with Daniela Broder in 2006 whilst they wre both travelling and performing in Mexico. After spending time in different parts of the Americas, they rejoined and while living amongst the tribal peoples of Peru and Bolivia, created their first joint album, 'Lemuria Emerging' (released in 2007).

Since returning to the UK, they have performed their music in many venues and events throughout England and Scotland, where they are fast becoming known for their unique style and presence, and for their ability to create emotionally stirring and deeply inspirational music. Anima have supported and played in concert alongside internationally renowned musicians including Craig Pruess, Nigel Shaw and Carolyn Hillyer. They have been featured on several radio stations and magazines including the UK’s leading Mind Body and Spirit journal, Kindred Spirit

Ali and Daniela have both individually spent a number of years living in different parts of the world and travelling with their music. They have spent time living with indigenous elders and healers of North and South America, learning their ancient ways, ceremonies and use of sacred sound. They continue to work with the sacred Earth teachings and traditional indigenous healing practices.

    Ali and Daniela have both spent a number of years living with indigenous elders and healers, studying ancient ways of ceremony, spirit medicine, yoga and the use of sacred sound. Anima emmerged in 2004 with Ali releasing two solo albums, "Celestial Baptism" and "Star Ancestory". In 2006 he joined together to perform music with Daniela while travelling in Mexico. Later that year, after spending time individually in different parts of the Americas they rejoined in Peru and while living in the Amazon jungle and later Bolivia, they created their first collaborated album, 'Lemuria Emerging' (2007). Anima have now released 7 albums, including "Crstaligned Dreams" (2008), Temple of the Stars (2010), Temple of the Heart (2010) and "Sound Medicine"(2011) which have been an evolving journey of musical alchemy, inspired by their experiences of ancient wisdom and the awakened heart. Anima are currently based in the UK, and continue to offer concerts and workshops internationally, widely becoming known for their unique style and presence, along with their ability to create emotionally stirring and deeply inspirational music. Anima have supported and played in concert alongside some other internationally renowned musicians including Craig Pruess, Nigel Shaw and Carolyn Hillyer as well as collaborated on music and meditation projects with Glenn Harrold - the UKs leading self help author, and Shazzie of Detox your World. Anima have been interviewed on several radio stations internationally and featured in a number of magazines including "Kindred Spirit Magazine", "Prediction Magazine" and "Sacred Hoop".
