Anima – Ali Calderwood and Daniela Broder create emotionally stirring music-soundscapes inspired by Nature, ancient wisdom and the celestial energies merging with humanity in these times. Deeply influenced through these connections, their music soothes, heals and inspires the light of consciousness through its transmission of sacredness and healing sounds.
Their music has been described as "powerful and hauntingly beautiful", infused with sacred energy and inspirational lyrics. It blends angelic vocals, crystal bowls and guitar with didgeridoo, flutes & drums, backed with spacious soundscapes and fluid textures.
Ali and Daniela have both spent a number of years living in different parts of the UK and travelling throughout the world with their music. While living with indigenous peoples of North and South America, they have spent time with shamans, healers and tribal elders learning their ancient ways, ceremonies and use of sacred sound. They continue to work with the sacred plant teachers and traditional indigenous healing practices. Anima have also spent extensive time working with the energies of the ancient sacred sites and standing stones around of the British Isles, where they connected deeply with Nature and the ancestry of these lands, which has become a huge influence in their lives today and the essence of this connection, can be felt through the music they create.
Anima were both abroad for about three years travelling through the Americas and returned to the UK last year. Since thier return, they have been performing their music at exhibitions, festivals and at intimate concerts across the South of England. They are now starting to take their music further afield and are planning for a tour in Canada and America next year.
Ali and Daniela both also work as healers. Ali holds sacred healing ceremonies and retreats in Peru, along with sound and shamanic healing workshops in the UK. Daniela is a qualified yoga teacher and holds regular classes and also works with her own shamanic healing techniques.
At the beginning of 2008 Anima released a new album, Lemuria Emerging followed by an EP, Crystaligned Dreams which was released in December. These and the older Anima releases are availible to buy on the website - www.animacreations.com
