Cartesio (1596-1650) pioniere della modernità stabilisce una differenza radicale tra l’uomo e l’animale, che è, per lui, esclusivamente una cosa.
Gli animali sono, per Cartesio, macchine, cose automatiche incapaci di pensare e avere sensazioni.
Conseguenze pratiche: si ritenne giusto inchiodare senza anestesia cani vivi per aprirli e studiarne l’anatomia e il sistema nervoso. Non era il caso di porre attenzione alle loro grida di dolore: le macchine, infatti, fanno rumore ma non hanno sensazioni.
Sono passati 350 anni, ma , per molti “scienziati” pur mossi da certa fede nel progresso, sono contradditoriamente trascorsi inutilmente.
L'antivivisezionismo scientifico
Ogni specie animale è biologicamente, fisiologicamente, geneticamente, anatomicamente molto diversa dalle altre e le estrapolazioni dei dati tra una specie e l'altra sono impossibili.
Quindi, al di là dell'aspetto etico, va considerato il fatto che gli esperimenti sugli animali sono considerati antiscientifici da un numero sempre crescente di medici, che non accettano più la validità della vivisezione come dogma assoluto, ma che iniziano a porsi delle domande, e a rispondere opponendosi alla vivisezione.
Gli esperimenti sugli animali non portano ad alcuna reale conoscenza sull'effetto della sostanza da provare, perché animali di specie diverse, o addirittura diverse razze o ceppi di animali della stessa specie, risponderanno in modo diverso ad un dato stimolo, come ad esempio alla somministrazione di un farmaco. Alcuni esempi, tra le decine e decine tra cui scegliere: la stricnina lascia indifferente la cavia, il pollo, le scimmie in dosi sufficienti a mandare in convulsioni un'intera famiglia umana; l'insulina provoca malformazioni nelle galline, nei conigli e nei topi: mai nulla di simile è stato osservato nell'uomo.
E, dunque, se il risultato ottenuto su un topo è diverso da quello ottenuto su un gatto, a chi somiglierà di più l'uomo, al topo o al gatto? La risposta è che non lo si può sapere a priori. Solo DOPO aver fatto l'esperimento sull'uomo si scoprirà, volta per volta, a quale specie e razza assomiglia di più per QUELLA particolare sostanza.
Risulta quindi chiaro che la sperimentazione sull'animale è dannosa per l'uomo, per due ragioni: consente di sperimentare direttamente sull'essere umano sostanze che non hanno subito alcun vaglio preventivo (perché il risultato della sperimentazione sugli animali non è in alcun modo predittivo per l'uomo), e fa correre il rischio di scartare sostanze che invece per l'uomo potrebbero essere di grande aiuto solo perché su una particolare specie sono risultate tossiche.

Troverete il locale facilmente su una strada interamente dritta. Ricordo comunque che il ClubHouse è al chiuso, pertanto l'eventuale pioggia non sarà di disturbo.
