Wool
No matter what animal the wool has come from, it is still bad. "In the wool industry, just weeks after birth, lambs' ears are punched, their tails are chopped off, and the males are castrated, all without anesthetics.(peta)"
Leather
Leather is its own industry, not a slaughterhouse byproduct. A decrease in demand for these products can help slow down the industry!
Fur
Animals farmed for their fur live horrible lives in which they are confined to tiny cages until they die, often by either anal or genital electrocution. Others are skinned alive. Animals caught in traps may lie there in pain for days. Other animals -- not even targeted by the hunters -- are caught in these traps.

Animals For Food
The food industry, in which most of us participate daily, is responsible for the deaths of more animals than anything else!

^In some countries, dogs are sold live. Their front limbs are dislocated and painfully tied behind their back. A jagged tin can is rammed over their muzzle for easier handling

Dairy Cattle and the Veal Industry
Like all animals, mother cows and their calves form a maternal bond, so being torn away from their babies is heartbreaking and hard for both the mother and calf. Mother cows can be heard for days crying out to their calves. If you support the dairy industry, you are supporting the veal industry.

Veal Industry
Calves are placed in a tiny crate, and chained down from their neck to prevent muscle growth through movement to produce tender "gourmet" veal. They suffer 12-23 weeks until they are slaughtered.

Animals For Entertainment
Animals don't want to stand on their heads, jump through rings of fire, or ride bicycles. To force animals to do these stunts, trainers use abusive tools like whips and electric prods."They suffer from extreme loneliness, boredom, and frustration from being locked in tiny cages or chains month after month, city after city.(P)" So, please: Think twice before you go to the circus or the rodeo that's in town. It's not worth it.

Domesticated Animal Abuse
Many pets are put into the hands of unfit owners. Dogs are chained up day after day, night after night, without food and water, and left to die. Many cats are left outside and often become the victims of cruel people that may light them on fire or shoot at them.

Dog Fighting and Racing
Through fighting and racing, people use innocent dogs for pure entertainment and money-making. Pit bulls are seen as aggressive, uncontrollable, unpredictable dogs because of dog fighting. In the absence of violence and inexperienced owners, pit bulls are sweet and intelligent dogs. In dog races, puppies are raised to race and used for this purpose until they are too old to compete, and then they are discarded. Many are killed outright, when they could be adopted into wonderful homes. Adopt a retired greyhound or other dog in need today!

Marine Slaughter
Fish are animals, just like our cats and dogs. They are intelligent and interesting creatures, and have their own unique personalities. In the process of fishing, many other animals are killed. Fish are able to feel pain. While being netted, they are mutilated and killed.
