Some songs are inspired by personal experience, like fond childhood memories (Who We Are), the bitter-sweet step of leaving home (This Place), or the tale of Sam, The Schizophrenic Cat. Others muse over the problems of life: "How do I live in the moment?" (Up To Me), "Where do we go when we die?" (And I Dream), and "Will that calabash fall on my head?" (The Mango Song). Anisa has played guitar and piano since age 12. She has performed for the past 15 years at festivals, clubs, coffee houses, and concert venues. She is known to enchant audiences with her rich story telling and intimate stage presence. Revealing a voice that ranges from warm sultry tones to a breathy soprano, she passionately delivers a poetic, upbeat, undeniably heart-rending brand of acoustic folk-pop.
