Anita and the Yanks are a unique blend of the Old and New. Irish influenced melodies on top of modern grooves and ancient and ambient strings. Anita Mansfield's songs haunt and heal you while her voice melts you. Bryan Dobbs's mandolin countermelodies support while Rachel Grace's Violin explodes over top of some of LA's finest rhythm machines, Tommy Amato, Andy Reilly and Jimmy Murphy. What is created is a new sound all it's own, which somehow feels like a memory.
Hey guys. How's it going? Well I hope? Will you be at the WSBD party this Saturday? Hope so. Anyway, time for the blatant plug - we're playing at The Whisky A Go-Go tomorrow night [Thursday] at 9.30 and we would really, really appreciate your support if you can make the show. Please consider it and let us know. Thanks again and talk to you soon. Gavin
Justin tells me he's got you booked for the next Muirshin Durkin at Clancy's on May 14th! Supercalifragilistic! If any of you kind folks are near Long Beach this evening, we're celebrating Justin's birthday with Hoist the Colors at Clancy's tonight. Stop by, darn it! -Fogarty
Too bad that only a few of your "regulars" showed up at The Joint to support you, still hope you had a chance beside the screw-ups with the sound on the first song. Also hope to see you playing in the valley again... ;-)
After this weekend the Prince O Whales will never be the same!!! Anita & The Yanks on Friday, Quenby & The West of Wayland Band on Saturday.....they don't stand a chance!!
