Anita Garcia is a local artist from Yakima, Washington and has just released her debut CD entitled "Rain" on her own label Jam'N-J Entertainment. Her music ranges from R&B to Contemporary Christian to Soul. Anita is an up-and-coming artist with a heart to sing for the glory of God.
Anita was born and raised in Toppenish, WA and began singing at the age of 12 in a small church in Wapato, WA where she developed her understanding and ability to engage in Gods presence and lead others there with her. As she grew older, she began to release her gift in other areas such as solos in school, church choirs and singing the National Anthem at local sporting events, which includes minor league baseball team Yakima Bears and United Soccer Leagues Yakima Reds. She was also a background vocalist for the locally released CD “Just a Moment in Your Presence” by Bernabe Gomez of Yakima, WA. Now, Anita lead’s Praise and Worship to young children at Family Worship Center of Yakima.
“Rain” is an inspiring message of hope, perseverance, and salvation. In those moments when Anita wanted to give up under the pressures of life, she didn’t. She instead picked up a pen, called over a few friends and began to Worship God. In the midst of that came 9 inspiring tracks that will up lift your heart, remind you of whom God is and encourage you to put down every excuse and ask God to just breathe in you, everything he has asked you to do.
The title track “Rain” was inspired by a young couple named Daniel & Jessica Bender in whom their 2 year old daughter Shianne was diagnosed with cancer. The song speaks about how they were able to face this trial, knowing that although as young parents not understanding why they were given this challenge, were confident that their God was with them all the way.
The song “I’ll be Okay” was inspired by two wonderful people in Anita’s life, Lidia Bender (her mother-in-law) and Velma Hammond (her dear friend). When Anita began writing this song she wasn’t quite sure why she was writing it but after the news of her mother-in-law and dear friend being diagnosed with breast cancer, she was inspired to finish the song and dedicated it to them as a tribute to their battle.
Anita believes that her music can reach every age and can inspire those who may have strayed away to come back and find their purpose in life again. With the release of “Rain” Anita hopes that she is completely transparent and you as the listener can only see God through her and through the words of her music. |
