Anjj combines the flavor of Hawaii with a mix of styles that give her a footing in what I describe as a "world beat." She is Jewel and Tori Amos meets Charlotte Church meets Pearl Jam with a lower range that catches you offguard ...Alanis Morrissette quirkiness, and just plain RAW sounding balls to the wall blues rock.
That was....until recently, when she joined Maxx Effex and began doing something called Hip Hop Dance Hall Reggae....

Fans say that Anjj Lee sounds like a twist between Alanis Morrisette meets Jewel with Jack Johnsons smooth island rhythmic bluesy style that captivates and soothes the soul.
July 2007 she toured Europe playing music - and her German song "Schatze Baby" was played on German Airwaves. She also recently appeared on Hawaii's popular television talk show Night Time with Andy Bumatai. View clip here:

Anjj is a versatile artist and can play music that crosses generations and genres. She can entertain a room full of kindergardeners and then play slow love songs for a Valentines Day Banquet. She can entertain a bar full of sing along merrimen who love the blues, country and classic rock and then head over to a museum and entertain and eccentric/eclectic crowd or head over to a hotel and play background contemporary/ Hawaiian music. Her own style leans towards alternative but she mixes so many styles together, it's difficult to categorize her hodgepodge of original music.

From soft to hard rock, with kicks in the air, hip-swaying, hair-tossing movements, sweat streaming down her face while dramatically strumming her guitar, she has also been compared to a female Elvis.

Anjj was born in French-speaking Montreal, Canada, with a German father and Korean mother. She was raised from the age of 3 years on the beautiful island of Oahu, Hawaii. She recorded her first CD entitled Sunshine of Mine in 2005 and will finish recording her second CD Highway in the latter part of 2006 (to be announced). Anjj composes the music and writes the lyrics for her own songs which are recorded intimately just as they are performed: acoustically with passionate vocals and a single guitar. Anjj Lee actively collaborates with other artists and is working on the CD production of collaborative works, as well.

Anjj comes from a musical family background. Her Grandmother, Gerda Hoffmann, was a popular Opera singer in Berlin, and she performed on many Grand theatrical stages throughout Europe. Her grandfather, Paul Elbern was a pianist who also performed for the Opera in Berlin as well, where he met her grandmother, and they fell in love. He later wrote for the paper in Bad Munstereifel where they settled down and had a family. Anjj was fortunate enough to get to know her grandmother. She was inspired at a very early age, not only by the talents, but by the grace of her grandmother. Anjj recalls walking through the small town of Bad Munstereifel over cobblestone roads and holding her grandmothers hand. She was amazed at how many people knew her grandmother, and how beautifully she greeted everyone with love in her voice. My grandmother was my best friend. She is with me, always.
Anjj Quote :
Music has a soul of its own. To touch, to understand, to communicate its essence is heavenly. I find that I often lose myself in its existential mist. It is the purest form of self-love and world-love and an extremely powerful communication channel that reaches people in a way no other message can." -- anjj
