I was born in Nottingham and lived in Leicestershire till I was 14, Brought up on a musical diet of Bob Dylan, the chieftons, and Simon and Garfunkel to name a few .
I have been making up songs since I first learnt to talk; I used to sit in the back of my Grannie's mini on the way to nursery and sing about everything I saw out of the window!when I learnt to read and write I got into poetry , which I still have a passion for.Then when I was 14 , I came across a copy of 'For the Roses' by Joni Mitchell and was truly awstruck. I learnt every Lyric and sang her songs constantly!I came to Derbyshire at 15 to attend a Rudolf Steiner school. It was there my love for singing blossomed. Inspired by Fellow pupil and extremely talented friend whom I boarded with, I picked up my Mum's old accoustic and since then have somehow stumbled through life's adventures from one song to the next. My guitar has been my greatest friend and has so far seen me through 20 years of joy and sorrow. The songs which reflect this have been shared mainly with my local folk club, through which I have made many wonderfully tallented friends over the last 10 years. I have ventured forth a little but would love to really spread my wings now that my children are not tied quite so tightly to my apron strings! It's an exciting time and ' every day is a winding road'
