London-born Anna Clyne is a composer of acoustic and electronic music, combining resonant soundscapes with propelling textures that weave, morph and collide in dramatic explosions. Created for cutting-edge choreographers, film-makers and musicians, her work has been commissioned and performed throughout the US and internationally. Recent commissions include Carnegie Hall, Los Angeles Philharmonic, Roulette/Jerome Foundation, Tactus, Opus21, Seattle Chamber Players, SEAMUS/ASCAP and the Los Angeles based Hysterica Dance Company where she is resident composer.
Her music has been performed by a wide range of ensembles that include the American Composers Orchestra, Minnesota Orchestra, ETHEL, janus trio and Electric Kompany. Her music was recently selected for Spark Festival, Bang on a Can Summer Institute, River to River Festival, Ear to the Earth Festival, 3P Festival, New York Musical Theatre Festival, d.u.m.b.o Dance Festival, Australian Exchange Film Festival, Edinburgh Fringe Festival, Guadeamus Interpreter's Competition, SEAMUS Conference, and a master class with Pierre Boulez.
Anna Clyne holds a first-class Bachelor of Music with honors degree from Edinburgh University and a Master of Music degree from the Manhattan School of Music.
