Anna Domino has been recording since 1977 or thereabouts.
Starting out with a borrowed reel to reel and using pots, pans, a glass lampshade and a lighter as percussion she accompanied herself on a korg MS20 synth, a blue hagstrom guitar and a borrowed fender jazzmaster bass which was very heavy. Her first record came out in 1983 or 84 (I forget) on Les Disques du Crepuscule (Twilight records). She continued to release records with the label until 1990 when she finally realized she'd never come to an understanding with the spooky folk at Crepuscule.
So, she then began working on a project called SNAKEFARM (see myspace page for new music) which takes great liberties with traditional American ballads. This was/is a lot of fun and a record called "Songs from my Funeral" came out in 1999. There is another Snakefarm in the works and it will be coming out, in some form, soon...
Anna Domino has never stopped writing songs and hopes to release a passel of pent up material in the wonderful and industryless format you see before you in the not too distant days to come.
Stay tuned
It is taking me a while to catch up to this. But it is very exciting...

I'll try! Late at night the BBC's business news broadcast is in singapore with all the huge buildings in the background...I'm like "this isn't what my gramps pics looked like :(". I have some slide show pictures my grandfather took from a helicopter, it was absolutely beautiful. I get what you mean though :] There has to be some of that left, and what will always remain. Hopefully the recession will slow all the banks down for a while! Nic x
