Anna Frank has been described as “an experimental singer/songwriter”. Her music ranges from emotional whisperings via melodic beauty to razor sharp rock, and influences include the German chanteuse Nico as well as Patti Smith and PJ Harvey. Another inspirational source is the French minimalist composer Eric Satie, who's traces can be find not only in anna Frank's instrumental pieces, but also in her songs.

Before starting her solo career a few years ago Anna Frank was a member of different Swedish bands, busy touring all over her home country. Uncompromising by nature, Anna Frank soon made the decision to devote all her energy and time to her own music and art.
- I even chose to break the contract with my former Swedish record label, because it didn’t accept me for who I am. They wanted me to make compromises instead of developing my own work – and I just couldn’t take it…
Along with The Knife and Wendy McNeill, Anna Frank has appeared on the soundtrack of the novel Änglarnas Syster (Sister of the Angels) by Anna Jörgensdotter and she has also composed and recorded music for television.
In 2005 Anna Frank won the Sveriges Radio P4 Music Award.

In September 2007 Anna Frank made her first international gig, at Popkomm in Berlin where she played a successful gig at Aufsturz Klub with her trio featuring Markus Odby (guitar) and Alexandra Isberg (percussion).
At the moment Anna Frank has finished the recordings with Ove Andersson (producer of Amandine / Fat Cat Records) producer of her debut album 'Harriets' Grief'.
