Lotte Kestner is a solo project, born during a bit of down time. Most often I am in the studio or on the road with Trespassers William. China Mountain (named after a mountain range in southern Oregon) was recorded over a year in my basement bedroom, and mixed in a Seattle studio with my Trespassers bandmate Matt Brown. Most of the songs are built around acoustic guitar and several tracks of voice, and I play a bit of harmonica, keys, drums, ukulele, and harp. I was assisted on a few songs by friends - including Jeff Martin of Idaho on two of the album's tracks.
I have recently returned from Marfa, TX, a beautiful small town where I tracked a whole album in 28 days with the great musician Robert Gomez. That project is called Ormonde and now has it's own page as well, where you can hear 4 of the new songs. xo

Oh my goodness- how do you think these things up??? The melody is perfection... melting me... amazement!!!! So minimal and yet too much to take all at once! That is your gift. So unbelievably beautiful. You are a true genius- in your own realm entirely. Brilliant, sweet, little, lovely as could be friend, I've much more to say but I'll save some for when I see you!
