"Anna has a purity of voice reminiscent to freshly melted glacier water from the highest mountain peak - quite amazing." (Noor- Highway 5)
It is comments like that that make what I do so worth while.
Basically, I live for my music. Whenever I experience or feel anything it goes straight down onto paper and I'll put a tune to it.
I'm 19-years old and have been singing for about 5 years, about a year after I taught myself how to play the guitar, and have been singing professionally now for the past year.
I have always performed, but ever since picking up my first guitar I haven't stopped performing and have found a new passion for writing my own music. I could sit and write for days on end- its what I live for and where I feel most free.
Anything that I write means alot to me, and i won't think about performing it until its perfect, in my eyes, and reflects exactly what i was feeling at the time, otherwise what would be the point in writing the song?!
In 2005, I recorded my first demo track and have since then headed back to the studio and have produced and recorded my first promo album 'One Stop Place' and am now working on a collection of new tracks that I am hoping to have finished by the new year!
I started gigging professionally a couple of years ago now and am getting bookings frequently to sing at a number of different events/venues. I feel at home in front of a crowd and am making the most of any oppertunity that comes my way. I also run my own open mic night- 'OPEN MIC WITH ANNA RICE & FRIENDS' once a month at Stourport Boat Club- anyone interested in playing feel free to get in touch!
I will constantly keep the site updated with new material that I produce and I would be grateful for your thoughts on my music. In the mean time you can enjoy reading and subscribing to my blog!
For any booking information please feel free to contact me by email on:

and I will get back to you.
Thank you for showing interest in my music and taking the time to read through my page.

Been waiting all night to hear how you got on! I even rang The Railway, but they wouldn't tell me! That is fantastic news and I am so pleased for you! We had a rough old time and came away with a sense that skullduggery was the order of the day seeing as there was only one judge and I was concerned for you tonight. But hey, you got through and I am so pleased! Will be in touch soon, until then,
yo! it's going great thanks, was in Nottingham last night and London today and tomorrow. Pretty tired lately but conserving energy for the gigs! Can you make the Lamb on the 12th?? hope so Matt
I was thinking exactly the same actually - I can't quite believe that we haven't run into each other lately, but I guess with Fat Rat not running the eclectic shows anymore we've been treading the boards in a more conventional manner.
All is good with us anyway, plus I'm doing bit and pieces with Gary that might prove good for your open mic night - GT and me are doing a trial run together at the Tewkesbury Blues do that BabaJack are organising this Sunday, so if we haven't been strung up after that performance we might appear at Stourport....
This years festival is headlined by Billy Bragg (Friday), Seth Lakeman (Sunday) and Peatbog Faeries (Saturday) with many more top artists also performing incl the award winning The Demon Barbers.
