I come from a musical family, and grew up singing and listening to my dad play banjo, guitar and bagpipes; my mother and dad would also sing together, and had a very interesting and far-flung record collection. I also got to sit at the back of the bass section during an entire season's rehearsal of G.F.Handel's "Messiah"; where the whirling, interlocked machinery of structure was revealed...
I've played music professionally since age 13 (30 years!) and have sung and played many, many places with many, many people under all sorts of circumstances. Past bands include Flyght, The Whiteley Family (with sister Catherine), Roll and Go, The Decorangements, Form Alex, Jason Feeds Jupiter, Scary Monsters, The Come On's and Anna Y Los Pepes; and more recently, the New Paulmans. My labels have been DIY since 1990.
...I've also been a radio dj on and off since 1982 (college, community and LPFM, also inaccurately known as "pirate radio".)
