After coming to the city, originally to attend the University of Windsor, Anne was very excited to find such an active music community. As a new artist on the Windsor scene, she got her start at Sky Lounge's Sunday Singers, an original singer/songwriter night hosted by Ron Leary and Ray Whimsey.
In time, Anne began playing throughout the city and recorded Endanomati, an original track featured on the compilation album Winter Rose (release: March 2006). Making appearances on CJAM 91.5 FM, Anne also has performed for radio and has been featured live on Open Mic: On Air!. This show, the recipient of Best New Show at the 2005 Jammy Awards, remains "dedicated to independent singer-songwriters and musicians in the local Windsor/Detroit area and abroad."
While Anne’s musical beginnings are rooted in the Windsor/Detroit music scene, she has musically gravitated back to her hometown turf where she has been increasingly present on stages throughout central Ontario. Recently, she was honoured to take the mainstage at the 18th Annual Eaglewood Folk Festival and performed for the Orillia Folk Society's FridayFolk Concert Series.
Anne has remained driven by a social conscience and as such, she has chosen to collaborate with numerous non-profit and service organizations including The Canadian Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, Engineers Without Borders and Windsor's own Transition to Betterness.
Whether on stage or over airwaves, Anne is pleased to have worked with and has thoroughly enjoyed the company of an outstanding and diverse group of musicians, many of whom originate from the Windsor/Detroit area.
hey, if you're ever planning on coming to Ottawa, give me a shout. i could try to hook you up with a venue/show/other musicians if you're making a trip.
Ya I'm gonna go to Eaglewood this year, wouldn't miss it. I think we might do a show at Cafe Rhythm the same weekend. You should come out and play at it.
The hair cut sounds a little crazy, I don't know if B.T. will approve. Anyway you were wearing that brown coat and I belive some form of pants. I have to remember to bring the Sears jeans back next week. Well see you and the reverse mohawk Thursday.
Anne, Annie, Muffin-tush, I am going to miss you so much, we will never see each other again in TV, I cried myself to sleep thinking about all the laughs I will miss...p.s. When do I get my private concert?
Anne, why Portugal? I saw an old black and white film of people playing music in a rustic tavern there and this makes me think of it, like a parallel reality. Very much like the scene in Casablanca with Humphrey Bogart, when the Spanish woman in his saloon in French Morocco strikes up the guitar and begins to sing. It is a a gorgeous bit of playing you have done here, the guitar solo is really pretty too. Very enjoyable.
Hello love... you are totally right about us having some kind of psychic connection. It was so nice to hear from you. I miss you. Tell me all about you....
Hey Anne - thanks for the comments. You've got a great style!
You can hear us on the radio most Sundays @ 12 noon, CHYR 96.7 Leamington, "South by Southwest" hour.
I've been working diligently on writing - hoping they get noticed!
Yes I will keep you posted of other "public" gigs we will be doing in the new year. Let me know if you do anything down in this area - I'd love to come hear/support you.
