Probably traditional ballads from England, Scotland, Ireland and Wales - not sure if there's any particular person who's made much of a difference to my writing style!
Started singing at Cardiff folk clubs as a teenager - went to Warwick University where she ran the student folk club. Lived in London, then in Lyon, France for two years ... returned home, wrote for Karl Dallas's Acoustic Music magazine, was "discovered" by Nic Jones and, subsequently, Martin Simpson. Worked for five years with Mary McLaughlin as the duo Anonyma. Worked occasionally as a duo with Steafan Hannigan. Mostly works solo these days.
Festival performances include Sidmouth, Towersey, Broadstairs, Warwick, Winchester and Redditch (UK, Norfolk VA, Old Songs NY and Calaveras Celtic Fair CA (US).
Stage appearances include Sadlers Wells and the Globe Theatre as well as folk clubs and coffeehouses in the UK, US, Canada and Ireland.
Workshops in voice, storytelling, creativity and songwriting - in Cortijo Romero (Spain), Atsitsa (Greece) and numerous other venues.
Storytelling in schools in the UK, Ireland and the US as well as arts centres, libraries, bookshops etc. Currently training workers in storytelling techniques in various institutions for disadvantaged children of all kinds.

I saw you at the Fo'c'sle Folk Club in Southampton a couple of years ago; you were really good...hopefully see you again when you're in the vicinity of the West Mids...BTW, if you get the time, check out the tracks on my site...I'd value any thoughts you might have.
