i picked up the guitar at the age of 9 and it's taken me on an interesting journey.
i began with a classical training that carried me through all the way into high school.
as soon as i started playing with other people, my playing evolved to include matters such as improvising that aren't addressed by learning classical pieces. by the end of high school i was writing songs and collaborating in a rock trio, Tereasa Undefined. after an extensive 30 day and 30 gig tour of the entire east coast, Tereasa Undefined disbanded because of the inevitable parting of ways by its members. while in tallahassee, fl pursuing an art degree, i stayed up countless nights jamming with all kinds of musicians and forming several projects. after moving to portland, oregon and getting settled, i started playing out solo, with just my acoustic, playing all of my songs, vocal and instrumental. making these songs is my way to analyze myself and everything that is going on around me.
so i had this weird dream about you last night.. i was sitting on the floor at borders and you walked up behind me and i was so shocked to see you.. the first thing i wanted to tell you was that "life is a highway" used to be a good song then some jacked up country band remade it and now it sucks.. after i got it all out, you and i went out to dinner and ended up playing guitar together on the beach.
it was heaven. we must see each other. NOW.
ps. great picture! promise next time you are in ny, i will meet you.. hell, maybe i'll just fly to portland for a weekend....
Hah! You made me snort Diet Vanilla Pepsi out of my nose, when I read about your Bill Agrella Day activities. I'm definitely hanging with you next year. Seriously, "doughnuts till dawn" is a great way to spend any day (and an excellent band name)!
Hey, are you allowed to bring guitars on planes? (Isn't that a movie?) If so, you totally should when you head out here. People out this way really like music!
