My name is Annette Simmons. I am 22 years old. I have been singing since I was four. I grew up in Houston. I would like to become a national and international superstar. My musical influences are Whitney Houston, Celine Dion, Mariah Carey, Kelly Clarkson, and Aretha Franklin. I was involved in choir from the 6th to the 10th grade. My sophomore year of high school, I made the MacArthur Varsity choir. In the 6th grade, once my choir director heard my voice in a singing test, she assigned me my first solo Oh Happy Day. In my first talent show in the 8th grade, I placed first for my rendition of Its Over Now.I love to sing R&B music and can sing various genres from Latin, pop, R&B, and gospel. I performed I Will Always Love You,How Will I Know, and Proud Mary for Showtime 2000 (the choir spring concert). I also performed Come On Over,I Need You, and Proud Mary.I performed Lamb of God for the district Gospel Mass. I have been blessed to perform "The National Anthem" and "Texas Our Texas" for district superintendents in Fall 2000 and Spring & Fall 2001 and for Marchfest. I performed a duet Hark The Heralds Angels Sing in the 2000 Christmas choir concert. While in the MacArthur choir, we made all 1s at the UIL choir competition. I participated in two Allstate choir camps. I placed second and third at the MacArthur talent show Spring 2000 & 2001 with my interpretation of I Believe in You and Meand I Will Always Love You. I made a one at state my Sophomore year at the state solo and Ensemble competition for "Per La Gloria." I placed second at the same competition for my interpretation of "Widmung" my freshman year. I placed 13th and 8th in the Regional All State Choir competition and participated in the Region Mixed and Treble choirs in 2000 and 2001. I performed a duet "Music of the Heart" for the Fall 2000 choir concert & 2001 MacArthur Graduation and a solo "Hero" for summer 2003 graduation. I performed "Hero" and "Because You Loved Me" for the 2000 and 2003 Honor Graduates of MacArthur and AKA scholarship reception. I graduated 9 in my class from MacArthur High school in 2003. While there, I took voice lessons for two semesters. All of my music teachers complimented my unique and powerful voice. I have a wide vocal range, I am a first soprano. I can learn music very quickly and have an ear for music, and have sung in various languages (German, Latin, Spanish, Italian, Russian, and French).
