Bio:
Anne Wolf has been studying piano since the age of nine. After 10 years of lessons in state music academies, she goes to the Royal Conservatory of Brussels * where she obtains a first prize in music Theory at the same time following courses in classical harmony, musical analysis, educational psychology and history of classical music.
From this time on she begins a very active career as a side-woman working with various singers and participating in many different projects. These include a wide range of styles such as Brazilian, African and soul music.
Meanwhile she continues to study at the Conservatoire but this time in the jazz department and obtains four years later a first prize in piano.
These last years her taste for jazz and South American music increases, on stage as well in studio, through different projects such as her own trio which she records the album "amazone" with.
In 2002 she receives the " DJANGO D'OR " conceded once a year to a new Belgian jazz talent and in 2006 she wins the SABAM composition contest with her song "moon at noon".
Some important encounters that have an impact on her career are: Michel Petrucciani, Eric Legnini, Charles Loos, Marcia Maria, Pierre Van Dormael, Theo de Jong
Anne Wolf has also performed out of Belgium and toured with differents bands in Switzerland, Germany, France, Denmark, Luxemburg, Portugal, Netherlands, Japan, Canada, Morroco and New-York.
She appears on about eighteen albums and has composed music for television and theatre. She has been teaching for more than ten years in private and public music schools (Movement and Opus Artis schools, Saint-Josse State Music Academy in Brussels).
Quelqu'un qui sait écrire un morceau comme 'Moon at Noon' est quelqu'un très spécial. Après tout ce temps ça reste vraiment génial. Et je sait il y a encore pleins morceaux comme cela dans toi qui attendent de sortir... Et j'espère tu me choisis comme bassiste pour les jouer avec toi.
