my quite-amazing family, norah jones, regina spektor, feist, paul simon, the beatles, and a slew of smashing friends.....not that i sound anything like these people, as much as i would love to.

one can have the most lovely time traveling with musicians. first of all, there are lots of fruit baskets. next, you'd find that the sturdiest forts can be made out of merchandise tables, in which you can make your own business appraising people shoes for imaginary customers. and if you are lucky enough to be under 4 feet tall, you can get in a good nap in a guitar case backstage, if you are not with a enthusiastic nanny who takes an unexpected and wonderful liking to your toy dinosaurs.
i grew up a musicians' and artists child. my father is a walking musicbox and my mother has a whole drawer full of birds wings. weird. they are wonderful people. perhaps the best people on earth. i recorded my first cd when i was 18. if you'd like to hear it, you certainly may, but i don't recommend it.
after having a plummy 19 years with my family, i married jake. jake is alarmingly cool. and i am alarmingly inlove. my songwriting changed quite dramatically when i married him. friends say that it is happier and better. i say that they are right.
my second cd, "when the kings and queens have gone" contains 11 songs that mostly center on love, or on thoughts about growing up. (i have been doing a bit of growing up lately, and it's a little strange.)
i'm recording my third album next month, in with a killer-awesome team in a killer-awesome studio in boulder. i'm looking forward to an adventure-filled summer of recording and touring full-time for the first time ever.
and, for one last fact, i have an uncanny talent for losing things and for locking myself out of places. so i have a million tubes of chapstick and know how to break and enter with a credit card. while behind a guitar i can do neither of these things, which is reason number 89 for me to pursue music.
happy listening.....
Just thought I'd inform you of your greatness. I love your music; So much! You remind me of Jack Johnson, which I love. I keep begging my sister to buy your album on iTunes, but she wont. I'll get her someday soon though.

"Wisdom" ---great lyrics and I'm especially enthralled with your voice on this track. Sweet Annie is getting powerful! I love it! Your inner strength from "you know Who" is shining!! Awesome. Love you.
loff the new picture! it is tres chic! i think that means something good...not sure though, since my knowledge of french is even less than my spanish. you had a cameo in my dream the other night, by the way. we were in someone's house, and the living room was full of puppies. we petted them, then walked out to the back and the moon had fallen in the yard. you walked around behind it and said "well no wonder it looks so flat from down here. it's just a sheet of cardboard!" and then my alarm went off.
Consider it "cyle trying to spread the wealth around" seeing as his ridiculously talented friends (i.e. you, your husband) made that delightful curry chicken. Perhaps next time, dinner can be on me?
you songs lift me up in a bad day like today, and only a few of those kinda things happen (i mean with songs lifting me up ) once like a sec. JKJKJK no like never. but yours just feels like i am in the arms of someone... sounds gay and like stupid but really it does. miss ya
everything is AWESOME. you have inspired me to do something i didn't really expect myself to do. p.s. i dig the new songs, and congratulations on being inducted into itunes.
i think i will have to add a dairy cow to my collection of mythical future aspirations, along with hundreds of pillows, a puppy, a red room, and a college degree. on the other hand, i miss you and i would like to request a photo of cyle with a moustache. that's all. regards, whitney
