The VILLAGE VOICE calls Keating "…A cross between Willie Nelson and John Prine and you don't get any better than that." Passionate songs -- tough and tender. No frills or posturing -- her sultry voice cut straight to the heart. PERFORMING SONGWRITER raves..."...A rocker in the best possible sense of the word...enough twang to be called country, lyrics that tell a folksinger's story, but throw in her road-wizened voice and wailing electric guitar and what you've got s rock. As in rock solid."
This month we have Regina Spektor with the theme to the film Prince Caspian (but don’t let that put you off, it is really rather wonderful), Mermaid Skeletons with a great song that’s worth it for the chorus alone, the Agnostic Mountain Gospel Choir, who are as good as their name if not more so and finally the legendary Chip Taylor with the thought-provoking Former American Soldier. Great listening, and if you like the tracks, buy the albums!
Hi! Thanks for having us over! We..re home with a jetlag from hell... I..ll bring some of your records with me to our gig in Stockholm this weekend. It..s great by the way! /Thomas
Hey Annie, just stoppin by to wish you a Happy Valentines day. Hope we get to finally cross paths this year, I'm still dyin to hear that golden voice live! much love
Wow, Annie, these songs are fantastic. It takes me forever to do what's recommended to me and Chris Tarrow told me I would dig these songs a while ago. Here I am finally sitting down for a good listen. Great, understated songs and beautiful production. The mood is spot on. Anyway, I want to get out soon and see all this live. Would love to sit down and talk about your writing process, if it is indeed something that can be distilled into a process. Probably not, right? For me, it's usually more of a spasm then a gradual recovery of balance. Beautiful stuff.
Hi Annie! Absolutely *wonderful* music. When is your next show after Southpaw? I have a show the same night- otherwise I would come. Please let me know!
